Note, the centre rails go inside the motor box and are bent up to support the axle tube, the outside rails do the same. Front section is 55 thou brass, total car without lead is 88 Grams, needs more work, centre rails are not stiff enough, might brace front of motor to inner rails to stiffen car up.

Some Retro cars I have been building. This is what happens when you let a wing racer build Retro chassis's. this one handles OK

..a CanAm D3, it is certainly not as "pretty" as most of the chassis displayed here. My lo-bucks operation has not yet allowed for the purchase of a tumbler to make it all clean and shiney. I have had to depend on a little judicious scraping, and the application of Comet with an old toothbrush.

Trust me .. this is a great deal better than the first attempt.

70 grams as shown here, it will spec out 105 - 110 with all the bits attached and a body mounted. Hopefully, I'll get everything attached and see how it works on the Angel tonight.

Nice paint job, too!
Remember, two wrongs don't make a right... but three lefts do! Only you're a block over and a block behind.

Mr. G.
Different to say the least ...I LIKE IT. ...The way you set the rear up, seems to me to make the stresses more equal side to side...NICELY DONE....

This is a customer car for a class unique to Chicagoland Raceway, Retro Hot Rod.
It makes good use of some K & S .064 strips/chunks I had precut a few years back.
The middle 3 are just tacked on to the main .062 wire chassis rails with the thought
some bite could be tuned out by soldering them more solid and/or connecting them
to each other.
Here's the type of body that goes on the odd shaped chassis.
Here what the chassis looks like with the 1" + tires installed.

I put this one together under the advice of Hershman. After I spoke to Ron I called Chicagoland and ordered some goodies!
It's not as shiny as most of them on here.
We'll see how it works next weekend. Thanks again Ron and Mike.

I built this chassis for IMCA's 'Retro Worlds' race. IMCA organized this race last spring in Belgium. Rear tyres in pictures are only for testing. Retro racing was really enjoyable. Maybe sometimes I build more cars.
