Well, here's what I did last week, a "production" run of four Danse Fambeaux sleds, Duffy Index #88-91. They've all gone to good homes already, and I got orders for a couple more (lemme know if YOU want one before I get too busy!).
There's more detail on the thinking behind this chassis in its own thread, HERE.
The one I ran this weekend on Port Jeff's swoopy King was just painted on, giving me my best performance yet (which ain't much of a best, but I keep getting better).

Gorski "Grand Prix Chassis" I like the designs on this build. Motor bracket front for more even flex. Super wide pans 5/16. Custom floppy hinges with bit bar. Protective front bumper. Ballbearing front & rear. There is a center piece you can add to the bit bar for more center weight. Dimensions fit together well.
Hi John..Just what about the motor bracket gives even more flex? I can't see it in the pictures...

There's a disconnect in the word sequence: the relevant phrase was "more EVEN flex", not "even MORE flex".
John, did you have this around last Saturday at PJ? You ran a different car. (I know cuz JJ & I were snooping through Impound during the qualifying, turning cars over & generally acting like a couple of stray dogs running around sniffin' chassis butts!)

I guess with all the pollution control on these new cars it's no longer worth while chasing them and sniffing the exhaust.

Cap, another good build that I'm sure will work well for you.
Would you mind providing a closer look at the way you connect the pans? Are they shakers or hinged? From the existing pics, it's hard for me to tell -- not that I'm looking to steal any idea or anything.
Again, nice work. I really admire the craftmanship I view on this site.

As always, nice work. Thanks for the close-up shot, too.

Meet chassis #005. It was originally a Slick 7 kit that I cut all to pieces. What was I trying to accomplish?...don't really know to be honest. I knew I wanted to do something Tri-pod-ish and use different size wire through the frame. The outer rails are .055, the middle rails are .062, and the tiny inner rails are .032 ( 4 of them ). The cross or bite bar is .055. About halfway through I decided to get fancy and cut a split into the back of each pan to bend up and make it a fake Aero-style pan. 4 inch WB, 7/8 GL. I have no idea if this thing is gonna work or not, but it was fun to build it.

I love different and that one certainly is. I think you will like how the chassis drives with the inner rails of .032 and the heavier outer wire. Should be great on king. What does in weigh in at?

……Hello Racer fans…..it's been a while since Iv posted anything new…….Time has been short lately to build anything so Im running a bit behind.
Anyway here is a new chassis for a customer to race at the Zimmerman race.Iv built a car like this before and it seems to run VERY well,,,and very easy to drive, there just a HUGE pain to build, and take me way to many hours,so I like my straight multi-rail conventional cars better for the high speed king at BPR……
This is DCR #40,,I call it the "PITA" Can Am……………..Think about it
…..So until next time, have fun and take care…….Don/DCR

Just curious, Don....
Why is the back end of the left "pan" cut off?

Ah, so you didn't "remove" that piece for a reason.... you left ON that OTHER piece(right/inside on donut) for a reason. Thanks.

Don,
Will you be experimenting with rear steer on this chassis design?

Don,

I think I understand what your asking, but no I haven't seen any chassis with rear steer run well on the BPR king. The customer that ordered these chassis likes them,as they are very easy to drive, but there also still fast,,as a matter of fact the original chassis like this one I built in June of last year just won the monthly SCRRA race at BPR{He beat me by a lap and a half!!!!!…..sigh}…The car runs nice and smooth on slippery tracks and thats what we had yesterday….In the SCRRA we have no weight minimums so many of us are trying to keep the cars 90grams or under,,and cars with chassis like the one in my photo here are a bit heaver,,,but easy to drive,,different chassis for everyones driving styles I guess…….Thanks DC
