Have your fun, yes I forgot the plaque Good thing I got friends doing Q/A on my work

Try Big Lots stores. That's where I got the duckies for a block party a few years ago.

Which diet did you tell him to try?

Hope it does all it's quacked up to. Last one , honest!

Found the duckies. This time I got smart - kept the label and bought a spare body in case Cheater tears one up
The kid in the photo looks just like Cheater, eh?
I'll save the 6 baby ducks for Bill (Hey Red - get it? - "bill" ) in case he ever decides to start racing HO

Use the ducklings for 1/32nd versions.

A 1 liter soft drink bottle would make a more streamlined vehicle. Paint it yellow & stick on a pair of craft store googling eyes, nobody will ever know the difference.

That's what Duck Tape is for

Doggonit, I knew the speed-crazed morons would infect my thread sooner or later

Are you going to run it in at the track or do a water break in first?

Shades of the past...being forced to listen to a younger family member's Sesame Street record...over and over..."the horror"...lol

I think you might have given away that ABC body mounting jig too quickly. With it, you could have had a flock of ducks done by now.

Actually, that song made it onto the pop charts back in the late 1960's. I can't for the life of me remember the artist,
but comedy records were quite popular at the time. Ray Stevens being one of the more prolific writers.

Don't think the tires will support the torque of a H-7. That duck might fly south early this year
Posted 26 June 2017 - 05:50 PM
You're the motor expert but I don't think that's a H7, I think it's either a F7 or a MiniBrute.
Tell me if I'm wrong.

YOU RIGHT! I BOW and WOW DOG GONE IT!
Posted 28 June 2017 - 07:26 AM
The motor in the last photo doesn't have the can configuration of either one of Slick 7's MiniBrutes. It's probably a Falcon. I bought some dollar motors with closed cans & white plastic endbells that look like yours. I don't know what they are, but they got goobs or RPMs.

Track test results: at 10 volts it's slow but smooth and handles surprisingly well, despite being top heavy.
In fact, I think it handles well enough for more power. So I'll install the F7 motor for this Saturday's test at The Dungeon
Definitely the most popular car on the track, the kids were cheering "go duckie, go!!"

Charlie McCullough trick - round off sharp corners of flag nuts where wires push against them.
I used a Dremel and small sanding arbor. Didn't cost me a penny and it made me feel good.
In a serious race car I'd highly recommend it
New (used) Falcon 7 motor installed with a 10T pinion. The duck says "I can handle it, no problemo" Hope he's right

Its your duck and you know what you are doing but I would have used a 7 or 8 tooth pinion.
Have fun.

Eddie, the wheels ended up at about .720 OD.
A Falcon 7 motor geared about 3 to 1 with .750 wheels is very common - been doing it for years.
2.8 to 1 with .720 is not abnormal at all.
I don't blame you for disagreeing. Very few people actually understand slot car gearing as relates to rear wheel size.
This isn't my first rodeo with small cars, Eddie:
