Jairus, you better get patience before you get the woman!

Oh, I got her.
Married her 37 years ago and she divorced me 20 years ago.
Still love the girl and we have three kids, all married and 4 grand kids.
Keep in touch and talk on the phone from time to time.
Today... by the way, is our anniversary.  (Sept. 18 1981)
I guess, I have patience already.
Just waiting for her to realize.
Don't tell her tho...

Don't think I will be sending anything in both my cars have John H built motors & I've been informed that rewinds not done back in the day won't be able to compete.
I could put the Pittman 6001 back in the gp car but it will be a little heavier & the other cars motor needed a new arm built & any vintage hot arms I have are a little fragile for hard running.

May I ask where you got that info from?  How is that possible in what is called an unlimited class?

Unlimited is the modern class which runs modern retro fk motors my cars were built (being built) for the vintage class.
Info is off Eliot who is the organiser of the event he posted on facebook about it being only vintage arms allowed I asked if my rewinds would be ok but was told they wouldnt be as it leaves it to open for cheaters.

In the Period correct class we all run vintage motors. I run 50 year old Dyna-Rewinds 16D and 26D no issues. Car weights 115~145 g.

We do not run this class hard as we respect our vintage Shinoda's.  Your 6001 will run ok.  This class is what the reunion is about, Period Correct.

Tom,

What type of motor were you planning to use? 16D or 26D or other?

Maybe I could provide a vintage motor for you for this event. All my motors are vintage everything.

As Gene said, they won't be run that hard and the idea is to run in honor of Larry Shinoda.

Hey Gene I can run the 6001 in that car I have a champion 617 arm around here somewhere but that 26d runs so nice I don't want to touch it may still send this car in.

Hey Max thanks for the offer would be nice but I don't want you to send me a motor to borrow & have not got funds at moment to buy a good vintage motor if some one was going there & would race my car they could put there own motor in for the race car is being built with a mura 16d (a can) only vintage arms I have are a mura double in magnum 88 16d (guy I have bought it off has asked that I treat it like a baby)after that the only true early arms that would fit are a stock early russkit 22 & an ncc22 tagged arm which is more 70s & precious to me also.

I can bring extra 26D motors in case you decide to send a bare bone car, a motor could be bolted in. Just let me know. Keep in mind that this race is more or less for fun, yeah there’s the first place winner and 2nd place is first place loser and most racers in the period correct race need frequent potty runs between 2 minute heats, any longer they get sleepy.
I got sleepy a few times last year myself.
Send in something and it will get hooked up and raced.

Take care g

Are you sure? Sounds like you have competitive Mura motors already, but...

I do NOT want to see you not run when you wanted to participate!

I offer Miss Octobar.
Features a VINTAGE Certus 16 Rewound armature, Double shaft, Mabuchi can, Arco magnets, Certus Super Proofer Big Foot endbell, Mura 36D brushes,
Certus alloy-lubricated springs, vintage 7T pinion soldered in place & Certus red & black hi-performance wires.

If it blows it blows, but could even be a winner.

Let's all make the MOST of this event for tribute to Larry Shinoda!

See enclosed centerfold!

Hey Thanks Gene will be right for the 26d powered car.
Thanks Max that is a sweet looking motor car is being built to run an A can not sure if that will be a straight bolt in if it could I would say send it to Gene to install for me for the race.
Otherwise what would you want for that lovely motor you have there or maybe I could have the car built to suit a can drive mabuchi.

Tom,

Let me know what you want to do.

The motor is not for sale as I do not want to sell this precious little treasure. Even the Certus decal is vintage.
As I said, it can be installed there at the event if you send a motorless car.
Best to have built an endbell drive chassis, but can go either way.

(Hello Endbell Drive!)

Gene will install it. Gene Adams is a tremendous gentleman and legend still in our time!
One day there will be a Gene Adams Reunion tribute event!!! No doubt.

I will not be there as I am doing my entry by Proxy. I live in Texas and that is where I will most lively be.
I have been invited graciously to attend but obligations will keep me at home.

It is great to just participate! Other well-known slot car celebrities might also be there, so get involved.

(Hello Kingie!)

Limited time offer...!

I'm having car built by a guy who does a much better job than me will have to see if we can find an endbell drive rear brkt.

The guy selling those 26d arms Gene put the link up for has a couple of champion 16d arms but who knows what they will bid up to & postage is $40 to where I am.

Thanks to both you guys I will try my hardest to get atleast one car there.
Thanks Tom.

Hi Maximo thank you again for your offer I think I may have found a decent enough motor to use here anyway so I won't need to borrow yours.
Still need to find an endbell drive rear too for a reasonable price.

But I have got my other car running decent enough I put a 6001 pittcan in that with ball bearings & the hot factory arm It is a rocketship on the straights just hasn't got the best brakes.
Thanks Tom

MISSION STATEMENT

It has taken me some time to get my bearings straight after a number of previous setbacks,

but this time around I hope to present a better effort that is competitive in the SHINODA Reunion 3.

All kidding a side, I am unafraid to disclose every aspect of my racer, because of confidence in the preparations.

As Roger Penske once said "Success is where preparation meets opportunity!"

As a PROXY entrant, the good news is that it is only ONE event, not a series of traveling venues like others in past years.

Preparations began when my entry last year was aimed into the wrong class and failed miserably!!!

It should have been prepped for PERIOD CORRECT!

We shall see in less than sixty days what the outcome will be. So far... Team GenesWorld looks unstoppable, but stranger things have happened...

Team Watson Automobile is fielding an impressive looking racer for Period Correct and Scuderia Miko has debuted an equally impressive Unlimited entry.

Come one...come ALL!

Team Maximo is already making plans and preparations for next years event - Shinoda Reunion 4!

Larry won't have it any other way!

RUS-22 Russkit 22 Pro-Racing Slot Car Motor cat-rus22.jpg
$25.95

Genuine Russkit "22" motor, the one used by the Pros in 1964 to end the Pittman era. This Russkit motor, a Mabuchi FT16 with Russkit-spec windings, was the ancestor to all modern slot car motors and was used by the members of the famed Team Russkit. Powerful and light, it was also reliable. Suitable for all Revell and Monogram 1/32 sca..

Hi guys so do you think this hemibuchi will be alright to run in my other car if I get it finished.
Motor has a ugo sticker on it's side I don't think they made a hemi motor but it could be an arm kit or someone pulled it out of mabuchi could just be a french arm or something along those lines what do you guys think.

I'm not a racer by any means, so what is a drivers card?  Is this commonly called an interior?

Yes, I believe so John.
Not sure why... since Thingies NEVER required a driver before.
I only put them into open cockpit cars or if the owner requests it.  Most times nothing will fit under those low canopies.
