Suggestions and observations are never a "distraction".  :)

I rely on members like you to help keep "my head on straight" and for information I don't know exists.

Every day spent here seems to bring something new, so please continue to chime in as often as you want.

Remember, unlike the rest of you, I have NO idea what I'm doing here!

Final Post.

A month ago tomorrow I started this thread, and I think I have sufficiently "beat it to death".   :)

Since I opted to change this out so much, it seems like it really belongs somewhere other than in "Production 1/24 Vintage Cars", so if the moderators think they should move it, that's great.

A couple last shots:

It still has a ways to go, but for now I should just "let it lie".

I appreciate the input you all gave me on this, and have enjoyed sharing this 1/24 project.

Nah, gotta be at least one more.

1. Nah, gotta be at least one more.

:)

2. Looks good on top.

3. How did the chassis turn out?

1. Okay, just this one!

I guess what I meant was I won't be posting anymore progress posts on this; I think you've all had enough if those.  :dash2:

2. Thank you.

3. I'm very pleased with how this runs; the Ranalli 36D was a good fit, and is almost the same color as the car itself...

Thanks also to you Martin. :)

Next? Still have to finish off this (decals) and that Cox Chaparral...also looking for a decent Lotus or something. Which reminds me: are the chassis of the Cox Lotus and Chaparral the same?

I like all styles of 60s-era racing, so something is bound to come up that will catch my eye, I'm sure.

Yes the chassis are the same. The wheels would be car specific and the RTRs have steering with Ford fronts as we know. Also the Cox "team modified" cars get a different chassis, but I think you are asking about the more common kit cars ?

Always here to help. :)

2. Got it.

3. I think so...

I suppose the 2 main things I've taken from this little "experiment" in 1/24 are:

How little I knew prior to this, and:

How much I like really working in this scale; I'm not sure how much interest I still have for 1/32 now...  :shok:    :)

Mark, in the end it's all about getting enjoyment out of our little hobby/obsession. Whether that is by trying to keep every single part as original as the day it was produced or modifying every single part to your taste or to just make it go faster, is totally up to you! I was always one of those guys who couldn't leave anything alone, I knew I could make it better! That's what I enjoy, so that's what I do. It seems to me that you got many hours of enjoyment out of this project and that's what really matters. Keep on as long as you can!

Thanks Alan et al

Back in the day, I had a 1/32 set and a couple of HO cars, so 1/24 was something I never paid any attention to. I suppose it's only because I'm getting such as kick out of this "new" (to me anyway) scale that I have felt the impulse to post so often.

Sometimes I think I've posted SO MUCH over the last month or so that I'm over doing it and "wearing out my welcome", so to speak.

Having said that, here's one more!  :)

Decals added; figured I'd stick with the bare minimum.

Last thing will be the Paul Gage tires, which should be here (literally) any day now...

Everyone here has been real helpful and I appreciate it greatly.

Mark,
PM me your mailing address and I will send you a pair of  Russkit Porsche 6-cylinder air intakes to glue on the back deck on the body, like these:
