That will look absolutely amazing when it’s all done!!! The car is a piece of art.

Lancer's painted bodies were sure nice Bill.   :good:

Here's a photo with a factory painted Lancer Ford GTX body on the left. On the right is my attempt to capture the Lancer factory painted vibe with my Ford J-car on the right:

Here's a link to that J-car build. It's a smok'n hot, tire shredding RAM 850:

Thanks Paul.    :)

I've got all the detail goodies attached to the body and it's ready for decals:

I'm using decals from Indycals. Here's their decal placement illustration from their website:

I still have several of my old Lancer-painted bodies I used in the late 60s before I bought an airbrush.

Rick;
You have really taken slot car models to the highest level. This is where slot racing started, using accurately detailed model bodies on home built chassis.
Great work!

Thanks Dave, here's my finished car:

Shortened Champion CEE can motor, ISO pro car style chassis and big cool looking front tires:

Transaxle, exhaust and oil cooler details add some interest:

I love this particular engine detail and the Revell "Smiley Face Man" is doing his best Bruce McLaren impression:

McLaren wheel inserts from the Parts Box in Australia:

This Lancer scale version is like a 7/8 size version of a typical Dynamic Handling Body McLaren PRO car:

Both versions look pretty cool on the track but I'm liking the scale version best:

Another beautiful car built to your high standards Rick. Nice job! How does it handle running on your track?
