If any one here collects the Dynamics Kits I have extra clear original boxes. A lot of these got damage over the years.

P.M. me if you are interested.

These sure are fun to tinker with. theirs only a few of my dynamic cars I havent changed constantly. here latest iteration of this particular motor pod. this was originally the lancer hornet from earlier in the thread.

Painted the clear elva body and trued up the super cool Mila Miglia magnesium matching wheels.

All these neat Dynamics have me yearning to finish and play with my Dynamic projects! I have 2 inlines which will be early F1 bodied, another is done as a hard bodied McLaren Mk1. Then there is the 3 sidewinders with one done with a Dom's Stinger roadster and a Classic 26D and the other 2 I haven't decided what to do with other than they each will have Classic 26D (?) with the shaft out both ends!!

Here are a couple more Dynamics I found when going through my cars recently. The yellow Chaparral maybe Lancer bodied car has an Aurora Jaguar motor. Not sure what company made the brass parts.IMG_1669.JPG IMG_1670.JPG

The second car has perhaps a Lancer brand Chaparral body and the Dynamic chassis fits a Globe motor.IMG_1649.JPG IMG_1650.JPG IMG_1651.JPG IMG_1652.JPG IMG_1653.JPG

Here's another Dynamic, this one with an older type motor, maybe Pittman or something. If you recognize it, please lmk. Chassis has an unusual top plate type design, with a big pivot point in front of the brass body mounting brackets.IMG_1721.JPG IMG_1722.JPG IMG_1723.JPG IMG_1724.JPG IMG_1725.JPG

Here is the McLaren I talked about earlier. I know the real cars were never the Kiwi orange but I thought it would look cool. The body is a Tamiya (one of those $5 close outs they had). I played around with a moving body mount idea that just kept mushrooming into what you see. Very little body movement but the car handles well. One of the few I have with a purple motor!

Good idea for attaching brass to the dynamic pod using a plate on the endbell like that. i did. similar but made it more complicated of course. sadly I’ve burned up two or three of those purple dynamic motors recently!

My idea for attaching brass to the pods:
026A43F6-6208-45A1-BD8B-1097757ECA33.jpeg
Dont mind the modern tires recently caught some flack at the track for running colored tires.
0007201B-99ED-48B6-B39A-63631F0F4A2D.jpeg

both these cars work great although not very period correct they are still way cooler than a boring modern blob going around the track.
EEB0FD5D-9D96-49CA-9203-1594E0AF765D.jpeg
Also locked up the Dynaflex on the thingie and its a bit better. still had to leave some slop in the pillow blocks or else the axle wouldnt align properly full tight.

Mark, is some of that brass rod epoxied to the Dynamic cast motor carriers? Your approach is clean & neat.

Both are bolt on and can be separated from the aluminum parts. thanks! I think it’s kind of janky and not that strong but not racing these so guess whatever works.

Making it bolt is the right idea. It keeps the original part in “as manufactured “ condition for the purists but lets us have some fun with skills an ideas we would’ve never had as kids back in the day. Truth be told I did drill a hole in this one to bolt the motor in.

Was wondering how you held that motor in since your pod looks like its for a can drive 16d.

I have a couple old Dynamic motor carriers that have 1/8" axle holes cast in. I'm thinking about trying to drill these out to fit 3/16" dia. bearings or bushings. Do you have any experience doing something like this?

Bill I have one too and was going to try using a 3/16 or 1/4 center drill drilling from each side. Obviously alignment is critical.

If I had a mill it would already have bushings in it ;)

At the time the end bell drive was all I had for it so a cheater hole was the only way to make it work. I had an adapter made before I went crazy with the brass but the plate worked out fine.

The two F1 bodied cars I’m doing have pods for 26’s but I’m putting 16’s in them so a little clearance work was needed at both ends to have them sit right. These are things I would’ve done when I was 12 but at that age and time tape and glue was all I had for tools!! Lol

Could be easier to sleeve them down with brass tube to run 3/32 axles.

I know that is sacrilege but running the part trying to drill it  is not good.

I was going to check my step drills to see if one of them could be used with my Unimat. I'll try a couple test holes first. Sleeving down to 3/32" might be my best alternative.

I’ve never really thought of that as I have some that are just 1/8 through the casting and some have oilite bushings. just figured they came both ways. if you are worried about alignment I’d say go a hair bigger than the bushings to give some wiggle room and put it all in a jig then epoxy the bushings in?

Actually they are DuBro bodies. I dont know if Lancer pulled the bodies for them but they are fairly detailed so maybe. They came yellowed but after washing a few times it seems like some of the yellowing went away.

Unfortunately I got a hold of some of those shakey paint brushes for the detailing but they will still turn heads and be fun to play with at the track! 😃

Recent cobbled together Hussein. body was covered in poorly done giant sharpie panel highlights so I tried to wax off as much as possible and clean it up with new paint pen highlights. found a Japanese pen that works great really hate using sharpies. painted a old messed up interior to finish it off.

That car cleaned up well. There are some black markers used by stained glass people that out-perform Sharpies for outlining slot car bodies. I don't recall the brands, but will dig them out.

Here are the black pens I used on bodies. I liked the German pens best, but they all work.
