Dave, Red Fox had a well-detailed 2F body. They may still make it.

Mike, how long ago was it that you acquired the O/S clone ?

Bill/Martin; I didn't know about the Red Fox version. I'm sure I can get a body from PCH.
I have the 2F as well. In fact, during my last go 'round with slot racing, which started about 2008, I have built all the Chaparral winged cars. Most on jaildoor frames, and a couple on JK Millenium frames.
My favorite is the 2D. Here's a Strombecker body on a highly modified H&R chassis. It now has wheel inserts to finish it out.
The man, behind the wheel once more. (notice the body modifications)

As to the drift, Mark, it's been informative for both of us.

I believe you are right. I bought the body at a swap meet with no box or wheels/tires. It has posts for a slot car chassis.

Hey Mark,
That Pactra 365 P2 body looks to be on the do-do list of one our valued and grovel inspiring re-pop guys:

i've made a couple of queries and didn't hear back - if we all ask nicely tho...

Excellent link!
Should we keep going with chaparral vs Ferrari ,or not? I'm ok with either.
I know I've got a few more chaparalls here somewhere 🤔

Nothing wrong with thread drift if the continuity is there. The question in post 14 about the body you thought might be a Ferrari got us here, and the responses were legit.

Mark, I'm going to say around 10-12 years ago. It looks odd running without the wing, plus its lengthened and squashed. I also had a 1/32 2F that was a REH Lancer repop. It was very nice. I believe I gave it to Tex.

The body in post #36 appears to be a "scale" 2F body. The black one in post #14 is a Dynamic/Outisite "handling" body, meaning it has been lowered, widened and lengthened.

Always a tough call
Speed or Scale
The bodies today are,a vague representation of a nonexistent vehicle. To say the least. Artistic license is one thing but, WTF are they on? Has anyone seen any (new) scale bodies ? With the exception of Beta?

There is room for both. Retro has moved away from scale, just as slot racing in general did in the '60's. I'd like to see a separate series where the races were set up with each car getting a point for each lap, and concours points being added to that total. The total determines the winner of each race.
I.E. Entrant Race A total laps Concours points Total points
Joe Blow 197 10 207
Johnny Rocket 199 6 205
Ricky Racer 196 8 204
Billy Bumper 195 7 202
Stan Fingers 198 3 201
Nick Nurf 195 5 200
Rocky Rocket 190 9 199
Billy Balistic 194 4 198
Concours rules could be simple. Cars judged by jury as to how closely they resemble the real car. A picture of the real car to be supplied by the entrant. We did something like this at a vintage slot car meet at Chicagoland, and I ended up with a podium spot because of points I got from the concours.
Finding scale proportioned Lexan bodies will be a problem. Older bodies will be the rule of thumb. But seeing some of the scale bodies I have seen here, and doing a few myself, it certainly is a possibility.

Love the concours points added to total concept.
Thats the only way I would have a chance at a win.
Love the names Dave, I think I know those guys.
