Crap, I meant Cap! Interior for Cap... already sent out. But if you want one Rob... just PM me and I will give you the same offer.

Nesta, the seat belts are flat black painted artists tape and the buckles and adjustors are photo-etch model car items.

Finished a few more of the little HO bodies. First a 250 LM with interior.

Second, a couple of 330 P's with interiors....

Third... a McLaren M8 (I think...)

Lastly a Ferrari 512.

I can't see Jairus' photos, but Dooner's photo is a McLaren M8B from 1969.

This car won every race of the 1969 CanAm series (11 races in total) and the McLaren team scored 8 1-2 finishes along the way.

Can you see them now? Sometimes it is necessary to wait a minute for the pictures to load.

The McLaren body was manufactured and labeled by "Scale Auto" as a McLaren M8E. I don't make them, I just paint them...
Yes, I know that I could have put a wing on it. But it is the wise man who knows when to say enough is enough, so if any of you knows anyone like that... point them to me please?

Yo Jairus,

There's too much eye-candy here to in all fairness pick a "favorite". Whatever designation you or someone else gives them, all I can say is "hubba hubba"! (although the #4 Mac, the #21 330P, the Cap'n Rick and your wing car are particularly beautiful...OOPS!, I just read-off the entire page didn't I?! B)

Jairus,

I guess it might have something to do with the network in the office that I can't see your shots. I will check once I'm home and on my home ISP.

The M8E was essentially the same car as the M8B, made by Trojan for customers. It never did get a high wing as they had been banned by the time it came out, but a number of them got a low-mounted wide wing, like the Autoworld version, which one day when I build up the courage I want to replicate:

Posted Image

Of course the #54 car was actually an M8B because it was an ex-factory car (Bruce McLaren's ride from 1969), but the M8Es looked the same.

going back to the lil HO specials one of which we called a Torino....we went back to the original Thayer price list and perhaps this is a Mercury Cyclone...they show a 69 and a 71 version available but no Torino so we are happy to call this a Cyclone...for now...

OK, tonight I can see Jairus' photos (I'm hooked up via my hotel's ISP) - those are BEAUTIES!

I especially love the P4 Ferraris, really nice.

The McLaren is indeed an M8B or E depending on whether you decide in a factory livery or a customer livery, but the last Ferrari in the shots is a 312PB not a 512.

Last time I raced at Chicagoland Mike Swiss commented that my borrowed race body didn't have lace, so I painted one up tonight

Well decided to try again today, break from chassis work :) tried new way to marble, and new tear/rip design... need to try a different way to do it, don't like it much at all. I did try new paint design for GTP cars, and finally tried to do the headlights for my GTP type of cars...

I assume the gold leaf was on the inside. What did you use to get it to stick to the lexan?

i used adhesive for gold leaf from mona lisa products. It was in the same aisle at Michael's craft store as the gold leaf. there is also a sealant (clear coat) to go over it after you have it in place.

I hate painting F1s, but had to do it. Too much like a model with the exposed engine and exhaust. Used a Jack Beers interior, because I had one and it actually matched.

Later, I'll add a good one to the ugly paint thread.
