Always loved the Champion/Waters Ferrari.... the rivets always stood out so well.

Excellent work as usual!

Is the gold leaf on the outside or inside of the body and what do you use to stick it on?

Inside Mike.
The glue is made for gold leaf. It is a pressure sensitive glue that once it grabs a hold of the gold leaf will not let go. I purchased this bottle in 1987 and it is still 1/2 full.
Posted Image

The glue is water base, goes on milky white.
Posted Image

Press into place once the glue has dried clear.
Posted Image

Clear the excess away with a stiff paint brush and tweasers.
Posted Image

A piece of clear packing tape is great for protection but is not really needed.

Just Beautiful Jairus

I have an original boxed Kirby "Lee Gilbert Car Model" Ferrari I hope you will do for me some day :) . I've just about got all the "Korrect" parts for the CM car gathered up down to the Mura lead wires. I think I even have Mura Black Power magnets but I'll need some conformation from the experts here on that..........

That was my last one with the Snake pit Indy engine. I have a more pedestrian Weber inducted body... how 'bout that? ;)

Or you can bid that one up on eBay... (hint)

Finished a couple today.

This one is for John Havliceck where I had to paint a Q-tip blisterpack. Weird...

Okay, this one is not quite a slot car but a t-shirt design I think turned out pretty nifty.

Q-Tips rule Jairus :-) Just wait until everyone finds out that the Q-Tip blister pack was actrually designed at Area 51 and has special aerodynamic capabilities that will be incorporated in the next generation stealth fighter. Everyone will want one...or not! Hey...It's a wedge shape, it oughtta work fine. That reminds me, shouldn't there be an STP logo on there somewhere? :D

Q-Tip music to my Ears!

Looks great JHW!

Quick short story: when I was just a little boy,I sorta remeber going to the store and buying these stickers (or cards) that had really cool funky cars, like the Mercury pictured above, Also there might have been a stick of old stale tasting gum inside.

Wow, thank you Gary!
Not quite ready for prime-time tho.... gotta fix the kitty and finish up a few details.
Design is actually going to a Nor-Cal Cougar club but my local T-shirt business "Rat Hole Customs" will more than likely print some too! :)

I hads stacks of Rat Fink decal's and gave them away along time ago! Boy and I am kicking myself now.

Jarius,

Your work is most excellent. But I have one nit to pick - where are the guitar strings? :scratch_one-s_head:

John,

You ARE a clever boy! Those of us less clever will be checking out every blister pack around now for inspriation. Let's see - Shoo Goo..? Nah... Well, maybe for an open wheel car. Hmm...

Cheers fellas!

Nate,

Twice I tried drawing the guitar strings on with an ink nib, paint and a steel ruler. Both times it messed up and I had to remove the lines with paint thinner which necessitated re-lettering once. So I gave up. Most of the time you can't see the silly strings anyway.

By the way, I spent most of this morning refining the t-shirt art. Here is the latest version...

To be printed in two colors, white and black on grey or tan or ... pretty much any medium color shirt.

This F1 goes onto my Victory F1 Challenge chassis and is now up on eBay.

The body is by True Scale.

This little Stinger coupe body is by an unknown manufacturer, seems fairly vintage thick at about .030+ with no pop up wing.
