Very nice, Jairus. I'm not a fan of thingies but with those colors and the design you painted it looks great.

I did a bunch of these for Riggen HO a few months back. He said not to post till they were ready for public consumption, but after 6 months...

Time to revive this thread I suppose.
Never quit painting, but found painting racing shells boring if I couldn't do the chassis, too.
Anyway, here are two of five racing shells done for the local Retro racing group. One Porsche 917-10 and a McKee Mk10. Not shown but already on the circuit are two Ti22s and another Porsche.
The differences in OUR Retro racing is that the bodies represent actual period livery and the wheels are scale diameter!
Motor is still the JK FK motor, but most others are not turned away.
Next race is this Saturday, Feb 7.
Not sure I plan to be there... but the McLaren in the back (my entry) does need shaken out a bit (and a roll bar).

Very nice looking bodies, Jairus! Historic liveries are the way to go.
EDIT: Then again, it could be hazardous to have eight cars all painted identically (eight Ti22s or eight McLaren M's, etc).

Easy fix when there are usually only four lanes per race.
Plus, that Porsche 917-10 ran under a lot of different banners and paint schemes. Did it not?

Yes it did, both in the US and in the European Interseries. :-)
