That 1/32 chassis makes that 2-hole Mura look huge, doesn't it?
Is that an A-can?

Tom, I believe Bob will say its motor is the Mura Green can, a C-can.

Maybe the dude had his nose pierced. I love it.

Back to the serious stuff. The drop arm is 1" wide, the pans are 1/2", and the motor is a late-1980s Mura Group12 C-can with a black Super Wasp endbell.

The base ghoulish green on the face is airbrushed and the wrinkles are a hand-painted wash which can be worked a bit while it's still wet. It then gets toned down with a wash of color sprayed through the airbrush which takes away some of the brush strokes. The teeth and gums were hand painted and then airbrushed with a transparent dark warm grey to create the shading along the edge of the mouth. Everything was all mid-tones so the next step was to hand paint the black and white areas. A light coat of candy yellow was sprayed over the face and the whites of the eyes and the teeth highlights were repainted.
The blobs and intestines were handpainted with a little bit of airbrushing to give some roundness and depth to the blobs. That back half is full of lumps and brush strokes but a few coats of clear that is wet sanded between coats should smooth out everything.
edit: all of the airbrushing was done freehand with no masks.

Black Cherry, the Shinoda Bullet design, arrived and here are a few pictures of it just before I put on Ultrathane tires and tested it:
You can see the Dynamic chassis with a drop front hinge and a FT 16D EDB Mabuchi which is very very responsive in acceleration unlike most of the FT 16Ds I have been trying lately.
The car is very fast, has pretty good brakes and is really stuck to the track.
We will see if the ED&Rick Consortium's Bullet will be in the top 5 cars in Copenhagen!
Stay put!
Kind regards
Edo (back in the Thingie world)
PS Bob, great paint work! Quite inspiring and you'll see why in a while...

Edo that's a very interesting flat track! I think I saw photos of a similarly layed out track in Australia a few years back & have always wondered if it still exists.
Hi Bill.
The track isn't mine, but my friend Martins.
It's not bought from Aussie, it's made by Martin and some friends some years ago.
It's the same layout as a King track, but shortened a little, and no curved bends.

I think that one falls under the Thingie rule "anything goes"...Kool Kars!
One question, how is the Capri a Thingy?
Hi.
The man behind the Fat Capri is me 8)
I know that the rules were put the test with this body, but i'm no bodyexpert, it was a quick way to finish the project.
If it helps, it's way out of proportions, to wide, that Capri.
It's the chassis that makes my car just slightly interesting.

Kai

I can vouch for that! In fact Kai's 4 wheels drive chassis is very interesting and very effective on the track:...

© is the pivot that allows the front carrier to move up and down around the pivot's fulcrum.
The pilots who have raced the Capri in the Proxy Thingie race were very impressed by how it drives in corners: secure and steady!
Kind regards
Edo
PS Kai also makes beautiful wheels for 1/32 cars:

But Edo, shouldn't you be signing with your new tag, The Mad Cucaracha Butcher of Lugano?
That really has a nice ring to it!

Ive got a confession though. I have thingies in my slot collection. One I'm not sure what it is so you guys will have to help me when I post the picture. The other is a manta ray. It's painted a really nice candy red, which has me wondering if it was a factory paint job. I don't remember them being that color.

no offense taken although I do not understand how you could not like those cut up Cuc's
That was the way Cuc's were set up in Italy and here, in the Italian side of Switzerland, by 1967. At the beginning body parts were cut to fit the Mabuchi 26D instead of the OEM Cox 150 and wider foam tires:
Then it got out of hand.
Stay tuned for more cuts...
Best regards
