He he, one pair of fronts and one pair of rears are the normal purchase.
I prefer 5+ pairs of each ;)

Oh, that Euro sense of humor! :|
I mean size. I have two ideas but I need to figure out MM's versus inches. My son stole my conversion calculater and my fingers quite working recently! I'll get it though. Gotta have a few pairs of those wheels !

The Alfa style is for 3/32" axles, and fits Slot.it tires.
The 1:24 wheels are made to fit Plafit, MoMo, Metris etc. chassis.
The Ninco Classics are made to fit the narrow Ninco tires usually found on Ninco's classics.

Hi guys
you'll be happy to know that we're already working for the 2007 Thingie Proxy race.
We are discussing now with Jens, our new German Thingies addict friend who was lucky enough to find a beautiful vintage track. Here is what he says about this find:

Posted Image

"The "green" picture shows the situation as the track was bought in 2004 on Ebay.
It was built for professional use in Slotracing Centers. Mr. Goebel from Cologne (Germany) build 50 or 60 of them and sold them worldwide under the “Minerva” name. He is an old man and still living in Cologne.
This is the old "command" center:

Posted Image

The old surface was repainted and new braid laid over thanks to our friend Frieder.

Posted Image

The track is 24 meters long, has 8 lanes, 8 power supplies and has now the Bepfe timing system.

Posted Image

Very challenging is the great banked curve and the way under the "bridge" with the following left corner.

Posted Image

Our slot friend, Ralph Klose, with his wing cars did a 2,15 seconds/lap (aiming for a below 2s/lap soon). Scale cars should need 5 to 6 seconds In a few weeks we will have the first "event" with enthusiasts from "outside". We want to drive with oldies. :

Posted Image

Posted Image

The scene in Germany seems to prefer scale racing. I want to go back to scratchbuilding, as I did many years ago.
Best, Jens"

We can only hope we will be able to run a race on the Minerva next year!
Kind regards
Edo
PS I was wondering if it would'nt be possible to organize a U.S. leg of the proxy at Buena Park for the next 2007 Convention.?
We could just carry over all the Thingies and play to death with all the American slot stars!

Great looking period track Edo. I do hope it works out for next year. Now there's a track where it looks like a drop arm would help!

It kind of looks like one I used to see pictures of in one of the London raceways - Hounslow? ring a bell anybody?

When I saw the first picture, my first thought was "You're going to restore THAT? HA-HA-HAHAHAHA! Then I saw the restored track. What a beautiful job! Jens and friends have something to be really proud of. I wish I could race on it! :) :-D

Well guys, what a week end!!!
Man, looke at this view:

Posted Image

Posted Image

Everything was going so well, the Danish girls were having so much fun ;) :

Posted Image

Then disaster struck! First it was the SuperCuc, probably very jealous of the attention that Esther, the beautiful (see above) and very pregnant super slot pilot was getting, decided to throw a wind while it was dominating that round:

Posted Image

My heart stopped for a moment in full horror, but as I slowly regained a normal beat suddently...

Posted Image

...the Vulture also came to a stop after throwing a fit of jealousy as it could see all of the attention the burned SuperCuc was getting:

Posted Image

Off course that was only the beginning as EDB's Mongoose also fried the motor in the race:

Posted Image

...followed by the Mach 1, which in a pure lucky fashion burned hers in a demo race after coming in 3rd in the F&S cat.:

Posted Image

Posted Image.

Here are the winners:

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

The 1/32 race was run here on a 21m wooden track:

Posted Image

And here are 3 much admired Shinodas:

More comments on cars later...
