Race 5 was held at Slotcar Crossing. The track is a 135 ft. Hillclimb. That is the reason for the quick times.
Race six is back at Skidmarks on the super speedway. I hope we can get a big turn-out so we can have qualifying. Last Race at Skidmarks fifteen-year-old Brandon Jarman ran a 4.117 race lap running one of my loaner cars. 13.6 volts eight lanes running. I am going to give him one of the good cars for the upcoming race I can't wait to see him run some qualifying laps.
That tripod car you built for Cap is awesome. That thing works everywhere. I should have you build me one.

Greg VanPeenen

Tomorrow is the day, MRRA race number 6 at Skidmarks, the Super Speedway of the MRRA, and the final race of our first series. The weather looks like it is going to be good, so I would like to see a good turn out.
The races will take place in the following order.
MRRA Retro Flexi
Can-Am IRRA Rules
F-1 IRRA Rules
Retro Pro MRRA/ORS Rules
If you start out with your tires a little oversize on you Can-Am car you should be able to run one set of tires for Can-Am, F-1, and Retro Pro.
I am Sorry to say that Cap Henry and maybe Rick Davis will be in Florida. They will be missed. But on the bright side this should give someone else a chance to win.
I am sure Larry will have the track prepped to the max. so we should be able to have some good racing. As usual I am having to do the last minute trash but I should have one or two extra Can-Am and retro Flexi cars.
If you have any expired Hawk-7 motors laying around bring them with you. I will collect them and send them, along with mine, to Custom Arm Winder John Havlicek. That will be your good deed for the day.
We will have a short meeting to decide the feature plans for the MRRA.
See ya at the races.

Greg VanPeenen

Glad you guys are coming tomorrow.
Correct track opens at 10:00. If everyone gets dialed in Tech Will Open at 11:30 racing will start at Noon. If you all get dialed in sooner we will start sooner..
Any of you Ohio or other Midwest Racers. They say the weather is going to be great today and tomorrow. Should be a great day for a drive to Flint. And you S.E. Michigan Retro racers. Don't let the BIG, FAST, Hi-Bank track put you off. Its a Blast to run on. Come race with us and have some fun.
Testing New chassis design last night at M&T went low 4.5's off the trailer will go 4.4's with race motor and a little dial in. Skidmarks is 6 to 7 tenths faster. Oh Yea. Gonna have some fun tomorrow. I like bob will show you all how you can lose even with good equipment.

Thanks for posting the pics.
If you would like you can put captions with them.
I will add the results as soon as I get the print outs of the official race results. Then I will post all the final series points standings.
The Winners of Race 6 were.
Retro-Flexi. Brandon Jarman JK C-11 chassis
Can-Am. John Miller Miller/Warmack chassis
F-1. Bob Foster VanPeenen/chassis
Retro-Pro. John Miller VanPeenen/chassis
It looked like a Cap Henry sweep of Can-Am, F-1, and maybe Retro-Pro. But with Cap missing the last two Races it turned into the Rich Attee/ Big Mike Chmielewski show. With Mike taking the Can-Am series title and Rich bagging the F-1, Retro-Pro, and Retro-Flexi, and the overall series title.
We did not have an official constructors championship. But it would have been VanPeenen chassis. I think we will have to have on next time.
Thank you to everyone who raced with us during the first MRRA Retro Racing Series. Hope to see you all and even more racers in our next Series.
See ya at the races.

I have a disc with the race results for MRRA race 6.
As soon as I get it to open I will post final race and series standings.
Several people have as me why John Miller posted pictures of the red F-1. Had that chassis in my box of chassis that had not been tried yet for a couple months. I could not get John Miller or Mike Swiss to build me a Swiss F-1 so I decided to try that chassis. Bob Foster ran the car for me at race 6. Bob ran race laps in the low,low 4.1's and won the race by 10 or 11 laps over John with his Swiss copy.
So thank you John and Mike if not for you I probably would not have tried this chassis.
After the race Bob Foster told me not to sell the car as he was not pushing the car during the race and it would go much quicker.
See you at the races.

Actually, I was in Chicago today with Mike and my car is not a true copy.
By the way, are you going to the R4?

I don't see the Z railer or Swiss F1 (or whatever it's called) to be an advantage
on a track like Skidmarks. If anything, it would probably be a detriment.
Regardless, you're sorta running a Swiss F1 anyway.
I designed the JK F1 kit for Jerry about 2 1/2 yrs. ago.

Mike,
A fine job on that JK kit some really fast cars have built using that kit as a base. Did you do the Can- Am kit also.
My version is just a little different but does use the kit for parts. It is short just how short I will not say. It is a front hinge damped movement plumber. The hinge is filled with a damping material. The front axle and wheels ride with the pans. The rear side to side movement is adjustable with a movable stop as is the up and down. When the car goes into the corner the rear of the pans kicks out and the front wheels turn slightly into the corner.
Tested that car on Big Mikes King and it turned laps much quicker the the top 2 F-1 cars in the last race there. It is also very light for an F-1 so there is room for lead to tune for harder tracks.
I will give you a call tomorrow, as I need some STUFF. Also need to know if there is a 4.5 kit. I need something easy that will work with the .8125 dia. fronts and I need some Stock Car Fronts. Have got to get several more cars done before the R-4.
Regards,
Greg.
