Talked to Glenn today.
The newspaper sent a reporter over to ASA Hobbies today. They took my press sheet, arranged all the cars on the track and took pictures and promised to send someone over to cover the race on June 23rd, which is of course, race day. The time is now set for 12:00 noon PST. Unfortunately that is pretty late for our European entries, but the two Australians will be pleased to know that a full race report will be posted that evening soon as I get home. While the shop has internet access and I might be able to post individual heat results on Facebook. Nobody knows much about streaming video including me.
Still hoping to get to the track sometime in the next 8 days. Glenn says that he has done a lot of work cleaning up and making the shop look ship shape for the big event.

That is the finest looking display case of cars ... ever.... except for maybe something at the LASCM.
But we are making our own history right here.

This is great news and it would be GREAT to have more than a few spectators. From what I hear Glenn has already sold an expensive Deflaco controller and a few cars so hopefully ASA Hobbies will become a successful commercial track, Jairus can start a vibrant Oregon Retro series and there will be peace in all the land!

Will the drivers have any experience with cars as varied as these? (red faced)

My drivers will. The drivers that Glenn has chosen will be inspected by me in about an hours time at the track.
Good luck and Thingie Speed to everyone today.
My goal is simple (I think) a safe race a top 20 and a car that can be driven back on the trailer.
Thanks guys !
