I didn' t want to sound negative but 4 days from LA to Viganello seemed to be pushing hopes too high.Boy it better get there in time... I got it Tuesday and sent out Friday and as of yesterday it was in LA!
It really takes 8 to 10 days from the U.S to Switzerland for a package to arrive.
On Saturdays we get mail but no packages. The Orange Crate could be in Geneva or Zurich now, which means it will get here on Tuesday after customs and post offices trips.
When it gets here I could race it alone so that it might gather some points but this is up to Jairus and the Proxy Commission to approve.
I'm very sorry for you Barney, I really wanted your car in the race!
BTW Allan got to test the cars today and everything was fine except Brian's REM which is acting a bit erratic exiting wide curves (see previous tests above).
We looked into it, didn't see anything wrong, gave it a bit of compressed air seems to work fine now.
Tomorrow big day...

If it coasts out of the wide corners? Or seams to loose power, could it be the braids are too flat? When it tips off the corners, it no longer makes contact to the track?
Is the motor flexing away from the spur gear?? Is it that type of sound?
Kinda hard to guess from over here?
It's in good hands!
Have Fun with it.
Send it home after the race, Edo if it doesn't get any better.
Thank you!
Ciao! Edo

I knew it would be close. It came on the 12th but I did not get it till the 13th. My mail lady put it on the porch behind the chair since I was not home and I found it the next day. She knew I was waiting for it .... so she helped me out...
I shipped it on Friday and they said 5-7 days but when I checked the tracking it was still in LA Monday and knew then it was a waste of time. I wish I could have had it sooner but it took 11 days just to get to me from AU. That's why I sent it Int. Priority Mail so it would at least have a chance to get there on time. They told me 5-7 days... I wish I had asked Steve for faster shipping but that's water under the bridge. I had got a package from Portugal in 7 days a couple of days before the race so I thought I would get it in time...and that was only 1st class shipping....
I would like to know how it runs on your track but it did not make the race so it will not be fair to do anything else but call it last place again Edo. Let me know it's a pile on your track just so I feel better Last night it still showed LA but today it shows this.....

Barn is correct regarding the time of the race. To hold a special race after the fact is not correct as his car would not have to put up with the same race-day mishaps that generally take place. However, if Edo wants to postpone the race or hold a special race a couple days later with two more cars (have two cars set out of the primary as there are only three lanes). That I would have no problem with. Say the top two cars from the last race maybe held back from the Saturday run. Of course this would require two or three drivers who could be there on Tuesday, Wednesday or even next Saturday! But that is up to the Track director to decide.
However, to run Barney's car alone for points, would not be fair to the others.

That sounds like a great idea, if Edo can manage it.However, if Edo wants to .................. hold a special race a couple days later with two more cars (have two cars set out of the primary as there are only three lanes)
It would be a shame for Orange Crate to miss out.

The only drivers I would have here around play exclusively with 1/32 plasticars and I'm not about to have them newbies race your precious cars!
Brian, REM does not exhibit any of your suggestions. It looks perfect ( body off ).
The Italians will be testing tomorrow, we' ll take a look again.
Say, is that Cuc knocking at my door one of those special and rare resin replica bodies which appeared a couple of years ago?
G'nite everybody

I guess I'm the only nut but I picked SBR rubber (Oscars is 60's rubber and maybe safe?) because it is not as stuck in glue conditions as natural and would keep some of the heat out of the motor but oh well..... dumb me to think I had planned ahead good...
I'm glad the car got sent home because it had 4 teeth going on the crown gear and the gear was jammed against the pinion to keep it engaged, that would have maybe smoked the motor if not caught by Edo at this race...and 1 more tire splitting apart.

Please, do what ever is needed to REM to make it driveable. Sorry for all the trouble.

Barney, maybe if you take some old hardbody junker, paint up a driver to look like a postman (or lady) gear it like 2.5:1 over to the King BPR and don't lift for the deadman .
Might help ease the frustration..... Just a passing thought Sorry.....
