Gotcha Al. If the car survives the series in on e piece...I'll save it and get me one of those Chotis for next year! :)

That's assuming it's similiar. It could be Falcon powered JD chassis at this point for all we know :laugh2:

Next seasons race depends on who wants to take part, who decides to direct the race (most important IMHO) and who screams the loudest regarding the rules.

But a suggestion from me would be to strongly limit the number of tracks and time away. In other words... a short race with maybe 5 tracks in the U.S. one season. With the next season concentrating on European tracks and so on. Keeps the postal costs down and the races shorter. (Sorry Steve King)

There's more than one proxy a year and there's been thingie proxies for a couple (few?) years now. I think I'm safe in assuming there'll be one next year sometime :)

How about a proxy where every race (like 6 or so) is run in the US on King tracks only :king: .
With Thingie Wingie only bodies the name will come easy.:laugh2:

Did any of you guys who entered cars with G.E. motors zap the magnets? Just curious if it's even possible or if they respond well.

I looked at a lot of info on G.E. motors in VSRN... see Sept. '67 article here: http://www.vsrnonlin...08/GEMotor.html

It seems that at the time these motors were released, they had some of the strongest magnets available (partially oriented barium ferrite), and some guys were turning down the stack to get a little more clearance in order to lessen the braking power for better driveability.

hey john,,im not sure about GE motors, but i had my Pittcan re-zapped,and it seemed to give it better performance.i noticed it get a bit better brakes, tho Pittcans are really bad with them anyways.so i'd bet it wouldnt hurt.
and you bet a DYNAMIC proxy 36D RACE would be killer.

Scratch built with any vintage motor. I already have a plan and some of the parts. Unless most of the motors go up in smoke during this Proxy than most likely many wont want to do vintage motors again :laugh2:

Great job Swiss, your hosting style will be hard to top for the rest of the series!

I probably should have done a 7T pinion on Dom's car along with maybe a slightly larger ring gear to increase the braking but, I ran out of testing time before the cars were sent. Had I done that though, it would have increased the punch factor so, it's a tricky balance with that motor/chassis.

I say run 'em as is, (other than minor tweaking) they are an expression of each builder's thoughts and abilities and should remain so.

Sadly, I won't make the race due to work and "Miss Dee" getting married on the 11th (she is down here now preparing so, I have nowhere to stay anyway LOL!)
Hope to make it up for a Sat. night race again, great time!

Thanks for all your efforts!
