I crack a one liner and many get defensive and then a thread drift ensues, as a new "blogger" I am starting to see how this goes.
Please consider this an apology to those who are easily offended and those that only came to this thread to read about The Challenge.
Although I only know a few dozen words, Spanish is a beautiful language and intend to learn more of it with the Rosetta Stone disc that that I have.
Bob, I wasn't getting defensive at your one liner. But with you being newer than me, I was trying to give out some info on my buddy Pablo, who I've known since before Slotblog existed. No apologies needed or expected. I probably know a dozen of the same Spanish words you know, but I didn't learn mine from Rosetta Stone. Speaking of which, the Rosetta Stone discs are great. We've had their French program on a Win 98 computer close to ten years.
I intend to live forever! So far, so good.

how about 6-minute heats,so it turns out the same time (24minutes) for all the tracks, with 4 & 8-lanes,,Or four 8 minute heats for a four lane track...
a 24 minute race is going to be wayyyy sufficient for these cars, and then 9 or 10 races,,,lotta minutes on them MOTORS/ARMS,

I ran 8-2 minute heats last year.
The winner of the the track after me winning total was a little over 50 laps
so at 6.3 -7.3 sec a lap, they must of run about 6 minutes total (on an 8 lane track.
The power on my flat track is as mild as can be.
12.02V on 34 amps with 14 gauge taps.
Falcon 7's run 10-15 races before they run out of brushes.

I think with guys running all different cars, that last/3rd minute of the heat,
they should be all settled in and putting in the "hot" times.

I thought the heats were 2 mins. last year???
Barney, last year each track director was in charge of the race so they each did it slighty different. About the only thing we ever specified was that the drivers rotate through the cars so there would be no favoritism. This year the only rule we added was keeping the power down to save the motors. Length of race is up to the track directors discretion.
This year I am also keeping track of the track length too, so with a little math one can figure out the total miles your car went (around the world)!
Long weekend... what is everyone doing besides waiting on race results?
Jairus is: Painting bodies, working on the 2-motor '55 chevy, drawing on two new t-shirt projects and listing stuff on ebay.
Go build something.
