Okay fine, the harness did not arrive. The cars are packed and ready to be shipped to another track! Details to follow on Monday or Tuesday as I stated. We are skipping Z-force raceway and might hold a last race there, just before shipping home. (depends if we can get a good lap counter installed in 10 months)
Are they shipping here Jairus?

The cars are in motion!
I got tired of waiting, watching time slip by so I cleaned the tires one last time and boxed them all up for travel. Mike Swiss of Chicagoland Raceway has generously volunteered to host the first race on his flat track. This is the same track the "Sun Chaser" cars ran on last season and while it is longer than the Z-force Raceway, it is much more challenging than Buena Park's King track.
The race will continue mid-June just as planned, including an added new track in Spain! Pictures to come soon as Race director Jordi-Pedragosa Sala and I nail out the details. (Anyone here read and write spanish?)
First Race, THE (NEW) KICK OFF FOR THE 5TH ANNUAL THINGIE PROXY RACE!
May 28 - June 3rd, Chicago, IL USA
Length: 117' (35.6m) 8 lane
Race director: Mike Swiss
Comments: We ran this track last season so the particulars are already known. No banked turns and only one long straight. The most info you can gleen about this track can be read in the posted results of last season.
See you on the flip side!

Got your email address already Pablo.
Jordi has an english translator on his side but he/she is not a slot racer and doesn't understand much of the concept of a "Proxy".
We are discussing the track right now as he sent me about 6 choices in his area.
Then sent me one he picked that dosn't allow foam tires but only rubber.
I have tried to explain that the cars are already shod and it would be a HUGE undertaking to swap all of them, though he suggested he is up for that.
Will call on you soon I am sure, thanks my friend!

Before everyone gets all bent, are you sure it's just not a translation thing? Maybe you should find out what type cars they race? If there running plastic cars that's probably not a good sign, but if running Saloon, Falcon Pro or other similiar commercial style slot cars popular in the UK and some of Europe than it's probably fine.

As for translation, between Pablo and Google Translator I doubt anything will get lost.

I am very impressed by the quality of all of the cars built for this Proxy.
I am especially blown away by the "Blacklight" car!
There are many others that are simply impressive as well, like the "Wave Maker", "H Power and Cotton Swabs" and the "Dyna Rigg" among others...
The "Repelatron Dyna-Slider" is too cool as well!
One day I will return to fold as I am not dead yet.
Have fun gentlemen and great work!

Bob, Pablo is originally from southern California. Believe me, he needs no help from the likes of Google or Babel Fish to translate something written in Spanish. Please translate the whole sentence not just the first word Use of Google is ok, this way it can be reviewed by the NSA under the unpatriotic act.

I crack a one liner and many get defensive and then a thread drift ensues, as a new "blogger" I am starting to see how this goes.
Please consider this an apology to those who are easily offended and those that only came to this thread to read about The Challenge.
Although I only know a few dozen words, Spanish is a beautiful language and intend to learn more of it with the Rosetta Stone disc that that I have.
Do not misconstrue any of these statements that I find it acceptable to have to press 1 for English.
Watch me back peddle...............oops you missed it cause I ain't.

Translation can be tricky from country to country
Personally, I cannot communicate with Colombians for some reason..sometimes I doubt they really even know their own language
Bob, don't worry, we all have you pegged for a funny guy

plenty of time.
I plan to broadcast the event on U-Stream, barring technical difficulties.
(usually U-Stream being "down" or in the case of a raffle I held, weird feedback noise,
which I cured right before we started)
This collection of various Vintage motors could possibly be a problem with the mic in the
webcam, but I'll keep my fingers crossed.
The plan for the race is qualify them a day or so before the race to save time
since we will probably be doing this on a weekday evening.
I'll then group the cars in 3 groups (1-9 car, 2-car, by their qualifying times,
and hold 3 separate races.(vs. a 25 car round-robin.)
This will accomplish 3 different things:
1)There will be much less of a chance of a car winding up on the wrong lane.
2)The race will be easier to follow, both here at C/R and on U-Stream.
3)With cars of similar speeds running in their own races,
there should be less passing and/or nerfing issues.
If I have less than 16 and more than 8 drivers, the drivers will rotate through the lanes.
Regardless, the same top drivers will NOT be driving the same car for all the heats.
Cars will be scored by lap totals from all 3 races.
IOW, the winner of the C or B Mains has a chance of being declared the overall winner.
