Many entries used non-period guides, lead wires, braid clips, etc.
Some used JK wheels.
A few picked a body that is not vintage or was not produced back in the day.
Quite a few have tiny non-vintage front wheels that look a bit like Pro-Slot Euro-Sport items.
A couple have motors that seem too powerful to fit with-in the rules but they and all above
are allowed as far as I am concerned.
You know why? Because the spirit of "Thingies" is one of innovation and experimentation.
Even my car is wider than was accepted back in the day.
Is any of that wrong? No.
We have been talking about this race for 6 to 8 months now. Plenty of time to search out and read the racing threads posted here and on Slot Forum regarding past races to know what to expect. The one constant from 2005 to 2011 is: "the fewer the rules the better"!!!
It allows a little room for envelope pushing.
That said, any one car hanging behind.... we will figure out how to fix it!
Any one car that seems to "break out"... we will figure out how to fix it too...
To borrow a phrase from the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean":
Hang the rules. They're more like guidelines anyway. It's all about fun. And beer... and girls.... long as nobody brings a gun to this knife fight, we are all on fairly even ground.
Savvy?
To answer your question:
No, I am not afraid of "Wave Maker", because the "Repelatron Dyna-Slider" will make mincemeat out of that limey bugger!
