Hosted on Fotki
Setup block from Ray Price ( mantaray ) , vintage champion fronts on wire axle, vintage Riggen rears. I love the wheels, I might buy some donuts and mount it on these because they are so cool. Drop arm, motor bracket, bearings, gears, and piano wire ( not shown ) from Pacific Model Car Raceway. And the croning touch to all this is that fantastic motor from John Havlicek. 28 double, epoxied mags, bearings on can and endbell, this is gonna scream! Still on the way are a couple jet flags, braid, wire, and I still have to choose rubber. OOOO Im excited!

So George is back in production then? I have not heard from him since shortly after they moved to Tazmania. Ol'Nostalgic's Choti body was even better than the Electric Dreams pull if I remember right. I've built a few chassis under that beautiful #5 body.

Keeping in mind what the defination of a Thingie is ??
According to the Thingie-Kingie: Futuristically, Wild, far-out & Fanciful..retro?
Slotbog defination: fantastical original ??
So, what is your defination of a Thingie ?? A question for everyone
Don't be shy, stand up and be counted

The new Choti # 6 sort of ? I see I'll have to make a few changes This version will only fit on a Flexi, sits really low But, you get the drift, looks closer to the original Choti add.
The bottom right hand side #6 Demon
Another thing to take a look at this add is: The # 8 Customs has an A, B,C-1&2 version- A&B would be the Dave Lenz pic's and C 1-2 would would be Wavemaker & Snakehead my version/interpations. What do you think?

The standard for front wheels back then was 3/4", so could you raise up the front fenders to fit them? If not... no worries, just asking.

I did mold this body higher than is shown on this mount, 3/4" front could fit ? The problem is the rear deck lid motor clearence for an inline motor set-ups & I will raise the front wheel wells to clear 3/4 fronts.
This add gives more info but, it's still a drawing of what it could look like. I've not seen a painted version surface as of yet.

Looking at some old magazines ....
it seems the non-scale/non-production model RTRs were called Outlaws before the were called Thingies.

Bob,
From my introduction to Edo's exhibition back in 2010:
"As early as 1964-65, the slot car manufacturers began to produce their own Thingies, although they didn’t use that name. They were called dream cars, or outlaws, or bandits."

Slot car thingies are slot cars with a mask on.
