Are they any good? They always feel like they have more drag than plastic ones. Do they rob power? Intuitively it seems they would only on motors with very little end float as the clearance would change as the arm moves back and forth. Although they feel like they have more friction, my bevel gear atlas seems just as quick as my nylon gear one.
Will bevell gears work with the power of the gp7 b can I'm running?

Not knowing for sure if Brian wants me to spill the beans at this early stage, I'll let Brian say. All I will say is that you need to be at least a little careful with the "B" motors, but even so, you can go WAY further than you could with a semi-stock Mabuchi You've got an endbell made of actually apporopriate material (instead of candlewax), and strong magnets. I just noticed though that the springs in the packed B above are "upside down". MUCH better if the long leg is on the bottom of the spring tower.

But, did a little work on it last night getting the magnets fitted and with a set of .030 shims have the endbell fitted as well. The arm spins very nicely inside with a resounding thump, thump, thump, thump....
The "arm" is a vintage "RehCo" #24 that I've been saving for the right project. Gold dust brushes, Mura light springs and a steel pinion round out the bits. Hope to have it together tonight, but right now I have to work.
Edit: By the way, pretty orange color John. That paint has to add a gram or two. ;-)

I simply don't mind what is said about my motor. After all, it's in the motor winding thread somewhere? Can't point you to an exact page!
What all the tickling John, has done to this motor, I feel pretty confident that it won't let out the majic smoke he has jammed into it!
I just wanna race the Mura B pink in competition!

Well, the modern wing racer has a lot of h.p. stuffed into a pretty light chassis. Just saying...
You're right about that (although maybe more RPMs than the torque of the old Muras) Jairus...but they also have wings to help keep them where they're supposed to be. We might be seeing more "air" than "smoke" with this one! Either way, it should be plenty exciting

Jairus,

I believe they are endbell shims to fit that endbell to the can being used.

Nothing on the tube tonight so dialed up some rock music and got that motor together. A single 24 doesn't seem so hot to me on the test bench. I do have a Certus 26 that I can pop in if this doesn't work but... till then I hope to have a chance to get my entry finished and on the track for testing by next weekend.
Updates as they happen.
