How exactly Craig? Please explain?
Generally speaking Jairus, rules at times can be left to interpretation and what i have experienced in the past exploited. Myself, I prefer to follow by the letter.

1) Ack...you guys are going to give Jairus a major headache with all the rules questions. Read and follow the rules as stated explicitly and don't look for ways to circumvent them because the obvious wasn't stated. There's nothing more at stake here than some good fun.
2)Yes, if anyone has some Mura A end bells (that fit a Mabuchi FT16D or modern "D" motor...OR...Mura B motor end bells, let Al know. TIA

Tradeship endbells are the correct sizing and good enough and at a fraction of the cost of the genuine stuff. They also have hardware already on them, hardly ever the case for the loose Mura stuff. If someone has trouble finding one, please PM me and I know that the LASCM can spare a few at a reasonable cost.
I cannot give them away because they are not my property, but can talk Scott into a decent price.

While it'll be in my slot box when I go visit Glenn at the track today. I won't bring it out if there isn't time. Today is for the "Dynamic Challenge", plus I need a quiet hour to run a mess'o laps and really see what it will really do! Weighs in a 112g.
4" wb with a 7/8" guide lead.
.020 under the front axle when the tires touch, tho they are just a hairs width above the track surface. Track ill-regularities and dirt will probably have them spinning as the car runs.
.062 under the rear axle and the tires are SBR fresh cut with nothing but zip-grip for now.
No name yet but but leaning toward "ZOSO" since the song "Going to California" is on that album.
Using the same #42 I had in the Dynamic Challenge so that's officially taken for this race and will be added to the list.

I have no problem with builders cutting up cans to vent or make lighter motors. But to start with something newer and "say" it was once a period correct can is something all together different.

Drove I-5 the twenty miles south and got there in a very short time but.... the northbound lane was totally blocked by a semi that had turned over and spilled its load of scrap metal. Not a pretty sight. Decided then and there that I needed to go the other way if I wanted to get home before dark.
At the track I checked on the Dynamic Challenge cars first and then set myself up for an hour of lap pounding.
After 58 minutes I was spent. Well, actually much of the time was taking up by adjusting the car and shagging it on two difficult corners. But all in all I managed to drive it for 161 laps in one hours time.
The track is 110' long and has quite a few sharp turns. It's more of a road course than a King track is but I feel good about the gear ratio and tire grip. The car is damn fast! No way I could pull the trigger all the way back unless the purpose was total suicide (sorry Layne).
After-track inspection shows the tires are wearing a lot on the outside, but not chipping. (SBR) I saw the car tipping a bit in the corners so at 112g it's way too light to go any faster with this motor and more grippy tires would just exacerbate the problem as the Choti body can only provide so much down force.
Took quite a few wall hits with no broken joints or body cracks and still sits perfectly flat on the test block.
Motor got pretty warm after testing. I think John might be right in that I will need a slightly milder wind to go faster with these magnets. Maybe a 26 single? I do have a Thorpe that's not doing much right now.... Also, going to poke some holes in the can and drill two holes in the end bell for more air flow. But lighter weight would not be helpful.
In fact, I am thinking of replacing those wire gussets with brass triangles just to add low tongue weight.
I am sharing this info for everyone's benefit. I am not the best driver, nor am I the best builder. But I believe that for this proxy to be successful for everyone involved, that we all share what we do so the race can be close and exciting for all.
The drive home was uneventful. Wagon ran great with the 8-track belting out "Sweet's" Desolation Boulevard and "Jefferson Airplane's" Surrealistic Pillow the whole way home.
Like I said, it was a GREAT DAY!
Respectfully submitted,

The Dynamic Challenge is now set for the 23rd and we are on track and on time. (Was hoping for the 16th but track owner wants the date to be Saturday the 23rd) I went through each car and tested more than half of them on the track. Nothing more that I can do but wait... or work and play.

Pablo, the pinion is a 8t steel 48p and the crown a Cox 28t.
Not sure of the airgap. Really tight I can assure you, but I don't have any way of measuring that. I wish knew who made the magnets but can't tell you that even because they were given to me by David Siller in a Champion can with shim. They're of course ceramic and fit the Mura magnet shim. The arm is a RehCo 24s and I think that might be too much for this car. Switching to a 26s Thorpe before going back next week for more fun and games.
