The rule of thumb is any wheel with a flange on one or both sides are usually vintage. Later in the 70's they tended to make the wheels more "tube like" eliminating the flange.
BUT, if that is all you got... I say go with it on the first set. They look the coolest and most vintage.
(provided they are straight)

took those off some old Champion of Chamblee cars but who the heck knows when they were put on. The blue rubber had me thinking the were vintage.
I'll check out EDreams and dig deeper in the junk over here.

I had hoped to debut it on the official thread today but I still await the appropriate rubber! Spoke with Jerry Kulich today and I should have the rubber on soon and debut Wednesday.
Everything else is ready.
We are proud of this machine, our very first ever Proxy Competition model!

For the front wheels to touch and to meet the other clearances this is important as the chassis built for me is not a drop arm car.
3. While both tracks are King tracks and nearly the same in layout and length. The braid depth is slightly different. Randy believes that Eddie's track is nearly flush, Oscar has reported that B.P. braid is recessed as much as .030. I can confirm neither of these claims, but it has also been reported that the B.P. track is due to be resurfaced between now and September so that may change.

I will make an adjustment to that post but it has been determined that after the resurfacing B.P. is nearly the same as before.
Then Randy went to Eddies to check and found the depth to be .020, which makes the difference barely .010 which is the variance on any one single track. So... use a .030 nylon washer under the standard lift guide tongue and the standard Jet Flag and you will be good.
