Truer words were never spoken, Paul
Trimmed tires, .800 fronts and .880 rears, combined with a Jet Flag and modern braid, resulted in a perfect .063 + clearance, and all four wheels rest equally.

Looking good Now just needs the powerplant ...*wanders off to your other thread about the motor* to see how that's coming along

Paul, I think I'll be using an EB that is in better shape for this car, since John S. is sending me such a nice period correct arm for it.
Not much more I can do about this motor until it arrives....
I will be testing the bondo fix on the old EB though, in a hour or so.

How to save a Mura sticker, as told to me by Jairus.
1. Heat sticker with a blow dryer.
2. Remove slowly and carefully with a sharp blade and or tweezers
3. Lay face down on top of a piece of double sided tape
4. Trim edges of tape with scissors
5. Ready to go.

If I may toot my own horn here for a moment, these are the details that make a motor run free and healthy. First, I made sure the existing Mura can bushing was tight enough to be worthy of the build. Then, I insert my arm shaft facing tool into the old can and make the face of the bushing straight, fresh, and true.
I'm not sure if everybody goes to these lengths to ensure success, but I do
cheater Wells taught me how to build motors, and attention to detail applies to vintage motors as well as a modern S16C, or anything else, for that matter.....

NS, both Mill's and Barney's lotions work really well at deep cleaning, softening and freshening old rubber.

I don't know about the tracks back then, but the NOS Riggen/rehco/american line chassis I've got in the cupboard has exactly the same amount of float.

Hey Pablo, how's this one coming along??

The smooooooth tracks of today were mostly a dream to us "back in the day".

I just got it, John. Looks like it's got a couple of very small new holes, and the loose wind was fixed perfectly, I can't even tell anything was done. Now we are cooking.

40 + year old arm ready to live and breathe again
Speed FX brush hardware meets old beat up Mura endbell:
Alignment is good to go :
I just remembered something - did I even check this arm before I sent it to Hershman ?
I can hardly wait to fire this thing up.
I need to coach myself to breathe through my nose and take my time with pre-assembly details, like mag placement, EB tapping and can paint
