Think the car needed a stronger magnet in it & possibly nearer to 2.5-3:1..
So cool reading it was so close to snagging the mph honor from Bob
Will keep in touch with "BAD" Bill to see when he gets some CNC equipment & is ready to clone the K&B dragmaster. ..

Paul, your car ran very good, IRRC it was close but I think my car got you every time in the R&R run-off buy driving around you on the big end, I don't know if those two cars were paired up in the brackets. Just can't remember... It was yesterday you know
Dave IIRC your low ET was like a 1.29. the timeslips are in the boxes for y'all to see the ET/MPH numbers your cars ran.
It would be nice to have a print-out of all the races, I don't know if the software has that feature.
Way to much to memorize for me
I was racing Dyn-Astro (Marvin) and the Corvette ... between that, making all the rule calls and taking pictures kept me over occupied.
Kenny S. loved the Valiant and ran 1.46/1.47 all night and he went all the way to round #47 where the 'Ghost' car wheelies so hard it redlighted and 'popped the slot' up against George H. with his modern 44.86 MPH dragster taking the win.
I renamed the car "The Ghost" after I found this picture. I don't know nothin... that was the race and that is the way the picture came out.

Yeah Paul,
Bill and I dad a quick talk about how your comm was kinda gouging and not getting a carbon track.
It was the thought that the brush spring might be too strong and it was decided to put some comm. drops on it and zoom, zoom.
It is a beautiful modified motor for sure

Ah yeah had noticed it was not getting the usual carbon track, with a bit of gouging ,again it was too late to investigate further & shipped it off. Thanks for the pit service Bob
May just leave it as is, "my first ever Proxy & Drag car" May look into a softer spring at some point, could even be the RAM brushes being too hard?

1. Of course, rails.
and maybe
2. 1928-64 bodies with padlocks and maybe open frames???
I built that Malco 1/24th (1/25th?) model as a kid ... love it!
There are two new drag cars in process (not counting the K&B kit) over here in the AutoFab Enterprises* shop in process.
* (A former wholly owned NJ based corporation)
I am open to a second annual "Rods and Rails" proxy with some variation of the rule set to bring more mail-in cars.
Thanks again to you guys that did.
That really was the only disappointing thing about this event. I tried hard to build a successful event, and it was ... because... 'all's well that ends well'

Sorry ... I am having some trouble loading pictures, so it is not visible right now. I'll have to get with Greg ... it says the pictures are to large but are only 400k each.

I had to hide the voting poll as some of the pictures 'mysteriously' disappeared in the dark of night.

I think this is finnaly going to work. I've never posted on this board. And my computer for some reason doesn't like this board... GGGRRRr!!!!
Bob, 1st of all I would like to appologize for flaking out on you and everyone involved with this race for not sending my car,
I thought you would email me the info to where and when to send the car.
Looks like that was a good turn out of vintage cars and some great looking cars, congrats to all the winners!!
I'm thinking of maybe having a vintage race at the local track here, (NorCal) and I've allready ran it by the owners and there wouldn't be any problbems having such a race.
This Sunday I'll have a talk with Rodney and see how we should go about doing this.
Again I'm sorry for flaking out.

Just like to say Thanks to Bob, Bill and the rest of the racers at Eau Gallie for a fun time racing with them. What a Blast!!!!!
It was neat to see all the vintage drag cars and hear the distinctive sound from the padlock motors. Music to my ears.
I wasn't able to run one of my dragsters in the padlock race but Bob asked if I would drive one of the proxy entries. He didn't have to twist my arm to hard. lol I picked car #2 from the hat... Pauls' cool VW Hot Rod. The Bug gave its all but those rail were really flying!!!
Hope vintage drag racing continues to grow and other tracks host proxy races, you can count me in for sure.
Congratulations to all the winners and participants for a fun race and great time.
Thanks,
Bill
