Good News!
There will be a second annual "Rods and Rails" reunion. We can again celebrate the life of a famous contributor to the hobby and sport of motor racing.
We will have fun doing it because that is what they would want us to do.
Those interested will have 1 year to prepare something special.
Stay tuned for details.

I think this is finnaly going to work. I've never posted on this board. And my computer for some reason doesn't like this board... GGGRRRr!!!!
Bob, 1st of all I would like to appologize for flaking out on you and everyone involved with this race for not sending my car,
I thought you would email me the info to where and when to send the car.
Looks like that was a good turn out of vintage cars and some great looking cars, congrats to all the winners!!
I'm thinking of maybe having a vintage race at the local track here, (NorCal) and I've allready ran it by the owners and there wouldn't be any problbems having such a race.
This Sunday I'll have a talk with Rodney and see how we should go about doing this.
Again I'm sorry for flaking out.
DVan
It's OK DVan but we missed ya'.
I am sorry that I couldn't keep up with updates and promotions on three sites. Here on Slotblog where I'm an experienced user and the opportunity, lattitued and assistance our leader Greg (Cheater) Wells gave me was very helpful, OWH didn't like me linking to here and Bracket500 was very accommodating to linking. thank you for helping me get signed up over there and posting pictures too.
We are going to do it again and it looks like Rodney got you a good tune-up and your ready.
Just like to say Thanks to Bob, Bill and the rest of the racers at Eau Gallie for a fun time racing with them. What a Blast!!!!!
It was neat to see all the vintage drag cars and hear the distinctive sound from the padlock motors. Music to my ears.
I wasn't able to run one of my dragsters in the padlock race but Bob asked if I would drive one of the proxy entries. He didn't have to twist my arm to hard. lol I picked car #2 from the hat... Pauls' cool VW Hot Rod. The Bug gave its all but those rail were really flying!!!
Hope vintage drag racing continues to grow and other tracks host proxy races, you can count me in for sure.
Congratulations to all the winners and participants for a fun race and great time.
Thanks,
Bill
Thanks Bill, your presence was a gift to us all.

I've never built a car or entered a proxy race ever. The closest I ever got was I built a couple motors a couple years ago for a guy who entered one.
Having a year to prepare for one might even give me a chance at it. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....................

Happy to hear it arrived home safe!
Everyone feel free to post pictures of the cars (top and bottom) and tell your story of the build-up in the Voting Poll.
Now ....
When all the cars return home we are going to play a game to hand out all the donated vintage parts prizes fairly to those that mailed cars in.

Sweet looking build ! Is that a Mag/ally frame with a Bronco/Mustang Kemtron motor? Certainly sits right!
Posted 24 May 2014 - 06:52 PM
That just looks......... Whether it ends up like that or not , you've got a nice headstart Should be able to fit some weight under the front .
Currently looking at a finished 6v DC85, X503 in bits, and an X503 magnesium frame..... Hmmmmm
