I remember weight was the answer for de-slotting...Gator Bob also taped a couple drop arms in addition to the lead.
We cleaned the track except for the shutdown glue. Smart racers only slightly cleaned the shutdown glue off the tires after a run, and then rolled out 3 times what was left on them for the next pass (me). I kept to myself pretty much and tried to focus on bracket racing cause it was my first time meeting Bob (man he knows a lot about these toy cars!). What surprised me the most was if we staged the vintage cars exactly the same way each time, they would pretty much hit their numbers.
Spinning off the line is not good for hitting the bracket time, spinning bad for low ET, wheelstands are kool, but also not good for drag times. Weight in front of car can be offset by adding wheelie bars if low ET is what you're looking for.
I plan to join in on the next Rods and Rails at The Raceway - scrounged some parts from the Orange City private track where we run vintage stuff weekly. This one is not a kit hahahahahaha, funkymobile needs a lot of help! I'm scared to think how this thing will behave fitting everything into a drag car, I know, I know, the motor is positioned wrong in the picture...yikes!
