OK ... question . ? ?
If a car is out of spec per the original Mike Swiss kit/rule package, like if it is ride height, tire dia., width, wrong gearing, etc.
How do you think it should be handled?

Up until now, I think it was run 'AS IS'. Slot depth was unknown and (?) not adjusted. This race, that item was announced and all should be owner adjusted. I would hope if a car WAS out of a minor adjustment, it would be adjusted to race fairly. My car came back from Europe with a broken solder joint that COULD have been fixed, but never was...and I do not know how many races it was raced 'as is'. Out of spec tech failure and DNF 's are part of racing, but we should rely on a bit of on-site support as well with the proxy.
I sent a spare motor - just in case. I did not get my second set of tires ready, but the used ones were OK unless the Florida sun shrunk them.

I assume that my car did not arrive yet...
Send it a day before Jens did
I think if a car has minor issues like ride height, tire dia., wrong gearing and it can be fixed easily it would be nice to do so.
Possibly naming the issue here and see what the other entrants say on a case by case basis.
Naturally any costs involved would have to go to the car owner/builder.

I reckon you'll just have to cross that bridge if and when the time comes.
I know my car is legal. It doesn't leave the ranch until it is.

Mine should be legal since it is exactly the same except the reinforcement and straightening.

On a separate note.... I had Ralph Thorne tone down the yellow and shrink the font a little.
These are the 'as approved' awards and should be here today or Monday.

Kenny got this chassis, finished out the car and has it 'dialed-in' with many hours of testing and tuning at Brandywine.
Sits at 113 grams.
The #22 Tribute car will be a contender.

May be is needed concernig the tires of #1 Rocket. Had no chance to change them. Will pay for expences immideately.
Posted 19 September 2014 - 02:32 PM
Hi Jens
If your tires are 1" or more and your clearance is .050 or more you're fine.
If tires are too small or ride height is too low you 'rang in' first and will get one of the 'rare' sets of tires if needed.
Posted 19 September 2014 - 04:55 PM
Oh Shizzz ringelading... My tire was close to 1" but was over it...do sponges shrink?
If so I might need a pair if there are any left.

I hope that meant "the order in which they will qualify", not "the order they qualified in"
Sounds like some guys already know their tech results, how is that possible ?

I had the pleasure to drive two of the entries tonite. I drove Matt Boman's entry and the orange #9 car (who built that car). I was surprised how well both cars drove. I think that its going to be an interesting race tomorrow.

Just got back from the track .... Tech and Qualifying is complete.
Full rundown results to follow...
Doc, You were right on!
Pablo, Yes that is how the cars lined up to qualify.

I'm guessing the pace car is a Hurst Olds 442 or a Javelin ?

I'm guessing the pace car is a Hurst Olds 442 or a Javelin ?
story here -> Prototype Hurst/Olds Toronado
A 1966 pacing a 1955/57 field would make it a futuristic "GM Dreamcar"
I was really surprised how well it ran, it's a full hypoid set-up and was very drivable. The FT16D stock motor was new with no time on it, might get a little more speed when it's broken in.
Anyway.... It was just for display and track prep parade laps..... Wheeeeeee
