That's some "Evil Beaver" right there. They came out masterful, Tony.
Correct me if I'm wrong but to MR questions and to 'elaborate' on your statement. "One less thing to effect the flex of the center section.".
The floating bit bar in a box lets the main rails flex more translating to bite.
Also... under bite (vertical torsional rail flex) the hinged pans lift later than if the bite bar is fixed to the main rails... and... the pans can tip up with a delayed/less pronounced lift effect on the main rails. Also... under braking the down flex of the main rails still let the pan lift in the corner, ... should be able to drive it in deeper.
The chassis in #72 adds another major 'dynamic' to the bite bars weighted effect. When the car hits the bank it holds the bar (-pans) down.
I can't tell from the picture but if there is some side play at the front center pivot... then... um... on a flat (or those tricky off camber) tracks 'all bets are off'... LOL.

Looks beautiful!! Isn't that considered a centerline hinge? I feel the can of worms opening!!

Plus (or minus) it is .001" off the true center.

As long as the main rails don't rotate around it, it's not a center hinge... just a center weight.

Did some testing with a shrunken Beaver this past weekend. Very promising. I would say stay tuned!

A "shrunken Beaver"... that sounds interesting or maybe obscene.
