A War Beaver went to the R4, won a main. It was my best finish at an R4.
Had more fun battling with Rick Starkey for first place while racing next to each other in the last heat. Most fun I've had in a retro race.
I second JohnnySlotcar's comment (in #124). To see what the car could do, I took very few liberties with the build.

Cap-
What is the diameter of the wire mounting the floating center weight?
Cheers

A little peek behind the curtain at Duffy's Evil Lair. (traditionally, The Lair must either be in bold font or set out by three-dot ellipsis, fore & aft, the only use of that damned convention I'll ever stoop to. The Snob Has Spoken. or typed. whatever.)
You're looking at today's outlay of parts in process, both for War Beaver Can-Am and Coupe and the first run of Beaver F1 chassis kits. We had to modify the Crooked Bender™ to do the F1 nosepiece but it's running now; I expect to have hard news on this in the next week. Stay tuned.

Gonna try this for our next hill climb race. .039 rails weighs in at 52 grams. Flex feels real nice I think it is going to be good. Went with 4" wb and 7.50 gl.

Skinniest SOB in the Valley: the Beaver F1.
This is the proto build of the kit components. We supplied everything needed to build this 'cept solder, and engineered the hard & fussy bits to fall together conveniently: this first one went from opening the bag to into the tumbler in one hour fifteen minutes. 46.2gr.
The first kits are heading out to Hudson Valley Raceway, PM Jim if you're interested.

Pictures when the beaver is all cleaned up and pretty.
This should be nice. There's nothing like the look of a clean one.
