Here’s my new gizmo for rough cutting equal lengths of tubing. I spin the cut pieces in a had drill and clean up the ends with a file:
I got it from Micro Mark. It’s not exactly cheap for what you get but hey, I’m trying to help get this economy going with some consumer spending .

Now I'm riffin' through my mind trying to visualize-up some way of doing a repeat attachment that you bolt onto your Dremel. Not doing so good yet, from a practical standpoint. I can see a pivoting doohickey that you screw onto the nose of the Dremel, that has a vee-block with a length stop on it. It would handle lengths adequate for pintubes & hinge gudgeons, maybe axle tubes...might be okay. I'll keep thinking.
Hmmmmm.

Well, I did it.Now I'm riffin' through my mind trying to visualize-up some way of doing a repeat attachment that you bolt onto your Dremel. Not doing so good yet, from a practical standpoint.
Here's the deal: we basically had a Snow Day today--even tho' my shop don't sanction those things, nobody
showed up, including out UPS delivery with items essential to my work for the day. SO I made this.
It don't bolt onto the Dremel, the Dremel bolts onto it.
The brass yoke (made of slide stock for the Abrams Tank shell-loading carriage) grabs the Moto-Tool and
is drilled for the workstop pin at top (set screw modified from the M249 Machine Gun rear sight windage
adjuster) and spring-&-shoulder screw pivot to the aluminum workholder (made from Piccatinny Rail extrusion)
--which has a little Vee groove to hold the stock, adjustable from 1/16"-9/32". (The red clamp knob used to be
my clown nose. I've given up trying to be funny and I could finally put the thing to a useful purpose.)
So, I pivot up and set my stock against the workstop, then turn the Dremel on and rotate down and slice off.
Repeat as necessary.
Took me six damn hours to make. Three times more Tool Time than I intended. Bad investment. --Good news,
now I got it.
--For MY retirement!

Not quite Duffy or dc65X quality, but it works for me, and I think I cut more stuff than the rest of you combined

Two years, four months, and six days from now I plan on retiring (but who's counting ).
We are now way beyond the "two years, four months, six days", so:

So, I have one of these, and hate it. The blade sucks, it lacks power, and the vise is terrible."hahahahah: Harbor freight!, takes 6 minutes to order, delivery to your door. Works like a
champ with provided saw blade and I got mine on sale for $16.95. Saves 5 hours and 54
minutes to make stuff no one else makes from China. hahahahahahahahaahah..."
So, I'm looking to eventually upgrade it with a better one. Probably the Micro Mark if it has a better vise system.

Jeez.
That's it. I'm goin' to bed. Don't wake me tomorrow if it's snowing.

I have one and it works very well. I have cut hundreds of pieces of brass tube with it and even some brass sheet. You can't hog with it but it gets the job done pretty well. I am still using the fine tooth blade it came with. It appears Dennis has the abrasive wheel on his and he may cut piano wire with it? A good buy for 20 bucks. My vise works well? Micro Mark is about $130!!!

Hmmmm... let's see. That would be the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, the global economic collapse, and the bursting of the domestic "Housing Bubble".So, I was looking at this thread and thought I would go back to the start and look at all of Rick's gorgeous photos of gorgeous tools, and what did I find?
We are now way beyond the "two years, four months, six days", so:
What happened, Rick??
Thanks for the reminder...
If they don't trash Social Security for people over 60, I now have 17 months and 2 days.

I had a project at my shop where we had to precisely nail down a bend in this little machine gun part, and I made up a teeny bending die to run experiments with. I admit, I was thinking ahead to my own uses...
The thumbnut allows pretty close adjustment after the first ear is bent, and the whole thing can repeat within .002" if I'm careful - the pieces we had to test were held within a thousandth, which surprised me. "Hey, I'm good."
Here I'm using the bits this die was made for as clamping dogs, stepping between the pan and the strap clamp. They're some sort of hinge clevis for a deflector on a blank-firing adapter, but I'm too much of a Pacifist to want to know more.

1. Replaced the metric bearings with good old "Merican" 1/4" X 1/8" ball bearings. I found some vintage Bill's Hobby House bearing adapters that fit perfectly in the 8mm bore of the Hudy.
2. Reamed out the Hudy pully to 1/8" to fit a vintage threaded axle.
3. I went through my axles and and modified the straightest one I could find.
Here's the result. A dedicated 1/8" axle tire grinder that will true tires up to 1-1/4" in diameter:
