I like it, too. Still have my "Big Sounds of the Drags" albums.

Top, agreed. Bottom, not so much. Never was a solo. We have all tried it, some can and some can't. I put these

two about in the middle. I haven't seen anyone who could replicate the magic that passed between Joe Walsh

and Don Felder.

Matt Andersen give's me the chills. Someone in the YT comments said this would be the result if Meatloaf and Janis Joplin had a child.

Bottom agreed, I was just trying to diversify, you know some thing for everyone... and she is easy on the eye.

Trying to balance my post.

True. The girl reminds me a little of Orianthi Panateris, in looks and fingering style.

Emily Hastings is playing the Joe Walsh part.   She has lots of Youtube videos and can play about anything.    Great young player.

I liked the like the videos the opposite. The thought guy way, way, way over did that song. Way too much, way over the top. Most of the time, less is more IMO. And his dynamics bounced all over the place. Loud to subdued changes many times with no logical order or structure to it. Again way too much.

The duet was enjoyable. Nothing spectacular, but at least enjoyable enough to watch the whole thing, which I was unable to do with the first video.

I don't know how to add video, but this Youtube vid of Tommy Emanuel always blows me away.  He is the best acoustic guitarist I have ever seen live.   We were lucky enough to see him 2 years ago in a 500 seat theatre.  He killed it.   This is a really old vid as he is white headed now.

He explained to  a great, really great young guitarist who was probably 10-11 years old that he lived with his guitar 8-12 hours a day from when he was 9-10 years old.

I've probably posted this before!

Too fast!!!! For all genres, the best was Andre Segovia (Torres). I have a Ramirez Segovia edition Spanish

flat top. Beyond superb.

Years ago I had some repair work done to a bass by local guy Sam Swank that took lessons from Segovia. At first I didn't believe it but he's a killer player and others collaborated his story so it's probably true.

The first time I heard Tommy Emanuel was on public TV. I was jaw dropped. I called a guitarist friend of mine to tell him to watch it. For me though, I can only listen to guitar virtuoso playing in small doses. It gets old quickly for me.

Warning! The following is hard core music for musicians. If you're not a musician you probably want to skip over this. Actually, most musicians will want to skip over this.  :laugh2:

Speaking of virtuoso playing, these guys a can really play, especially the drummer.

And this really out there. Usually this kind of stuff is too much for me, but I kinda like this.

I like to hear good music like this in the background when I work on my slot cars. It relaxes me so I can concentrate on what I'm doing.

The Snarky Puppy vid was good. Jazz is all about precision, and they seem to have a handle on it. Reminds me of a

college jazz band. My younger brother played for the Chicagoland Jazz Members Big Band for several years, so I was

well indoctrinated into it.

Not into prog jazz, but I would like to see a video of the other group playing.

Elmhurst College has one of the top rated college jazz bands in the nation, and annually go on a world tour.

I missed this post Dave. I think all of those guys are or were in the North Texas 11:00 o'clock lab band (jazz band). 11:00 lab band is the best band of one of the best college jazz programs in the country. I played guitar in jazz band in high school and that was everyone's aspiration. A few of the guys did make it.

Again, not really a cover band, in fact, not a band at all, but beautiful.

This isn't strictly a cover. Its a Styx song, and Tommy Shaw was/is a member. But it's the kids that are the stars:

And here's something a little more light hearted:
