I apologize to everyone, especially Howie and Steve O, for the delay in getting this cool ride ready for Howie's test session.
Noose did a beautiful job on the body...
... and she's sitting down low and ready to roll:
I've got a few different tire options for Howie as well:
I'll PM Howie and Steve and let them know this sleeper has awakened!

Very impressive, guys!
What's the tire size for '68?

Thanks Ken and Don. Tire size in this instance was 7/8" minimum diameter and 5/8" maximum width. The Alpha tires have been narrowed from .800".

This car is awesome. Thank you so much, Rick, Steve, and Noose for the time and work it took to produce this replica of my car that I raced back in the late '60s. Once again it is a great honor to be a part of this effort.
I look forward to putting it on the track to see what it will do!!

Me, too! I'll get her boxed up and ready to ship Howie. I'll touch bases with you before I ship to make sure you'll be there to receive it.

It actually ran faster after the two video shoots, on 10.5v (5.196), than it did on 12v (5.261).
My impressions driving the car:
It could use more tire for the particular conditions (spray glue, medium sticky)
It was super predictable, with a nice, controllable fishtail.
Too much motor, especially on 12v, for that particular body, especially without a spoiler.
I never punched the bank while driving it, even on the 10.5v, 5.196 lap.
Howie punched it once during the 10v filming.

As nice as the car runs on the King, it really excels on the Fiedler Flat.
Running on 13V, but with substantial choke on, from Howie's 3rd Eye FET 2, the car was crazy fun to drive.
A 5.2666 might of got it into the tail end of the A Main sitouts, at last last years Sano Can-Am class.

Sweeeet and it doesn't surprize me how well it works on the flat track.

Thanks for the reports Mike.
I'm glad the car handles well but I'm REALLY glad the motor didn't melt down. It has a newer and really stout armature for a '68 car and motor setup. But it's a genuine Cobra piece donated to the project by Howie's friend and teammate Sandy Gross:
We all felt it belonged out of the package and in this car so it could do what it was built for.........go fast.
And special thanks to my friend Rodney for doing the shake down test of the car. Thanks to him I was able to lower the gearing for more brakes and a cooler running motor.

The car was a joy to drive. It was smooth and did not do anything funny. The motor is an monster. Tons of power on 10v and ridiculous on 12v. No wonder these motors would not run a full race.! More to come!!
