Here's my latest flat track F-1 build. It's a LONG cadillac. 4.2 x .900 guide lead. .062 rails--1 piano 1 bronze Mike Swiss 3/4 tongue and Kamo San motor bracket!! Shaker style outer rails with .062 inner weight. She's VERY smooth on our BPR MTT Flat track. I'm looking forward to the next race in a few weeks. Should be a contender for the podium!!
I finally got a chance to race this chassis today on our BPR Flat Track!! She WON!! 299 laps a new total for me in F-1-- so a successful maiden voyage!! She was VERY smooth and easy to drive, Warmack liked it!! That's always something I look for in my builds! The "Warmack" approval rating!! Fun day and looking forward to building another one to see If I can get a little more out of the next one!!

Sorry about the nerf. "Sorry? Sorry? There's no apologizing in slot car racing!"
Besides, where would I even begin? I should probably start with my wife ...
"I don't often get very many "fast laps" but I very often get many laps quickly." ™
The only thing I know about slot cars is if I had a good time when I leave the building! I can count the times I didn't on one two three hands!

My guess would be 5 rails of .047 per side.

Don , how many rails and what size rails ?
Sorry Andrew……DCR #93 in the photo has 6-Rails a side of .039……..4 or 5 rails a side of .047 works very well also and seems to have a longer life time then the .039 chassis,,,they tend to bow and get to much flex with use……but the .039 cars are great if your going to build and have to race the car the next day(or in my case in a few hours},,,there about as good as there going to get after a few hundred laps……the .047 cars seem to settle in with about 1000 laps…………..When building a multiple chassis,,you need to be careful there is no "Stress" in the rails..make sure the all lay down nice and straight, before you solderer them in place,,,,don't be a "Cooney" and push one wire down into place as you solder it in,,all that does is spring load your car,and will never run right,,,make sure all the parts "Fit" with no stress……..I spend hours on each chassis hand fitting parts,,,,..and I guess thats why I can't make any money when I sell a chassis,,,,but thats the only way I can live with myself…..and I have VERY FEW broken chassis,,,every part fits in place,,every part is cleaned with scotch-brite before soldering…..The few times one of my cars cracks a solder joint it's such a fine line crack it can be hard to see…………….Thanks,,,take care everyone………..Don…DCR Slot Cars

Here is my latest retro CanAm. It is an Rgeo Dragon Slayer 7.5. I am attracted to the DS line of products since they channel the JK Cheetah line but that's my view and is not approved by either JK or Rgeo so don't go crazy with your comments or suggestions. This is a vast improvement over my prior JK 25r with only 1 .0625 rail on each side. Simply put, my personal view (note: all of your experiences may be vastly different so don't go crazy arguing with me because God bless you, I won't argue.) one .0625 rail is too flexible. And so say all of us.
I used the "grower standard" of 3 x .047 for the center and 2 x .047 off angle for the 'wedge' design. I think this wedge is a wise thing. I like how this handles. However, I have only purchased a couple of these retro hawk's . So far, these are just peachy for use'em and lose'em motors. I guess I haven't purchased anywhere near the minimum number to get a "good one" so these I have work exactly within the parameters designed by the factory to deliver consistent yet disappointing performance so we can all comfort ourselves with the knowledge that no one is cheating and all our motors suck, though most suck more than others. And this is called what?

OK, here is my Pro anglewinder. The design of this is 100% thanks to Jim Fowler and his allowing me to photograph his winning Pro design. No creativity here on my part. I tried to make this as much a paint by the numbers as I could. So, the chassis is fairly straight forward, though I will add that there are always subtleties and it isn't as easy as it looks. That being said, Jim offered to me one of his most easy and straightforward designs. I added a factory blue printed Pro Slot Big Dog motor and that was Easy! (visual of me pressing the Staples EASY button).
I'm sure real retro fans are laughing themselves silly with the body in the photo. This is the only body I had so it's the one I used. I bought a Parma Porsche 917 body and had it painted and ready to go. However, the guide lead designed into this body is WAY to short for my purposes. Consequently, I'm using this really cool body until I find the correct retro body to fit the NorCal program I race with. Until that time, I'm as bad as I wanna be...outlaw retro racer's anonymous. I would even use a retro Hawk with no Pinocchio nose sticking out the other end if I could. But, hey. This is not applicable to Pro anglewinder so who cares.
