I buile quite a few of those original JK kits without cutting the pans off and just a hinge mount in the rear very much like some of the current builders are going back to now. They always worked very well!

Crazy nice workmanship.

The lead is even perfectly cut.

I would add some L's to the existing front upright L's.

IOW, one leg of the L along the vertical leg of the existing L, and the other leg of the new L, horizontally, along the surface of the axle.

Any idea what that can am plus chassis weighed bare ? Also how flat were the chassis after you got done soldering all that stuff together? Those things look phenomenal and ready to dance at PJ !

CanAm Plus total weight with body is 86g.

It's completely flat. Solder carefully, paying attention to the flatness.

Couple of new builds heading out.  A sidewinder Stalker and a revised Jackal Pro.  The Stalker has removable top rails that will accept .025 and .032.  The Jackal Pro was a little light for retro coupe out west so I put he original nose on to add weight and moved the pans a little further back.  RTR the Jackal Pro will come in at 100 grams.

Akitani-

Beautiful work!

What size wire is used in you all wire designs?

Cheers

.039. and main rails have one each .047, due to the thickness of the motor brace.
Some edges are .063.

Akitani-san,

I have not lived there but use to speak a little Japanese - as I'm part Japanese.

How long have you been building these fantastic chassis's of yours!

They are spectacular!

Looking at the detail work, I would determine that you are a very experienced builder and have been fabricating slot car parts for quite some time.

You are  "Masuta Shokunin (Master Craftsman)"

I hope you will encourage more of our slot car counterparts in Japan to showcase/share their projects here on Slotblog.

Your chassiswork is inspiring - the detail . . . it's like "Jewelry" to me!

Arigatōgozaimashita (Thank you) Akitani-san for sharing!

The travel restrictions set by Japanese and US governments prevent us from coming to race at Retro Palooza. Its so sad.
