United we stand and divided we fall, the Legends are complete.
I'm racing the best here at BP but Father time is much better then all of us united.
Not a snob in this hobby, after all it will be gone, if we keep on going like we do, and I have nothing to prove so I keep on posting because I have nothing to gain.
It's our duty to remember the past so we can have a future.

I need straight arms when I drive, that is why I get amazed how NASCAR drivers arms look like they are driving a bus. It looked like this.

Nesta, you cannot drive with your arms extended, it is very dangerous and modern cars are not 1.5-liter 1960s F1 cars with narrow tires and no grip. Look at rally drivers in the WRC: sitting straight up, arms bent, and biceps braced against the chest. Steering wheel is pulled DOWN by the forearm on the side of the turn. It is the only way you can control the car fast enough.
Otherwise, you are just an accident waiting to happen...

Tthis is the way I hold my steering wheel; maybe I did not express my self clearly enough!

1) the tires on that Alfetta were having the traction of a bar of soap.
2) JMF does not have his arms that extended, but would never have enough strength to steer if the car had modern tires.
3) You are not JMF.
A proper driving position for anything with modern tires can be seen here:

Wish my '65 Mustang was even half that nice. Maybe one of these years.

We've had "Buttercup" for about three years now. She's pretty much just like we bought it. Original paint (with a couple of touch ups), engine, trans, rear end, etc.
We've had a ball with it!
Doug... you are probably better off with the Mustang... the aftermarket has everything for your pony, and at a lesser cost than repop Falcon stuff.

I always wanted to drive one of those HO SOHC Sprints. They're actually pretty rare cars, as they made very few of them.
250 - Std Engine - Man - 1 BBL - ZK eng code - 13,586 produced
250 - Std Engine - Auto - 1 BBL - ZN eng code - 50,549 produced
250 - Sprint Engine - Man - 4 BBL - ZD eng code - 5,609 produced
250 - Sprint Engine - Auto - 4 BBL - ZE eng code - 1,850 produced
Is yours a manual or automatic? As you can see above, the automatic is about four times rarer.

I also had a 1956 Chevy 210 sport coupe hardtop that got driven a bit more. It is now gone, as I sold it off to buy all the oak cabinets in our new house in the kitchen and all though the house. The cabinetmaker was a real car nut who wanted that car.
Then this car is a 1962 Porsche 356B coupe that we bought new in 1962. It has about 275,000 miles on it and still runs well.
