Rich, I have built and raced this same exact body ('67 Chevy, look at earlier posts and pix) in our H&R Hard Body class and copied your brass pans, which have been added to all of my cars- they work great! I soldered mine directly to the sides of the H&R chassis. I enjoy racing this car, even with it's long length and heavy weight. It may not compete with the smaller and better handling "race car" bodies, but it does well when racing against other street cars.  I added decals to make mine look more like a Vintage Nascar, hoping that some more racers will decorate their street cars into Nascars.

Great Glen,
Try out the Stage 2 tuning on your next ride and let us all know how it performs with the new configuration. For the set up, see the link http://slotblog.net/...e-improvements/

It was a busy Sunday at The Race Place hosting the "Three Track" points series race series.  After a dizzying three class all day race event, only a few were left standing for Hardbody.  But what a good, clean race it was.  Here is this weeks results...

1  Andy Sr                                  Lotus 30

2  Charles Schlottfeld                 Porsche 962 (Yellow)

3  Max Mohring                          Olds 88

4  Chuck Malave                        Porsche 962 (Orange)

5  Will Dee                                 Ford Capri GR5

Rich- I like the group of cars you  are racing. I really enjoyed the older brass ProTrack chassis, and like the new aluminum issue they now offer.

Thanks
I am glad hard body racing is alive and well in the Northeast. As you may have gathered from reading prior posts, we have two tracks in Roseburg. My track is Electron Raceway and Bob's track is Spare Time Raceway (STR).

At Electron we run only True Scale GT1/Group C, True Scale Trans-AM and TA2 (modern Trans-Am), True Scale Can-Am, True Scale Gran Sport and True Scale Sports car. These classes all use the Scholer chassis. To see images of the track see the link http://slotblog.net/...pictorial-tour/ located in the sub forum of Electron Raceway entitled Specs and Pictorial Tour. Images of the classes we run is shown in the sub forum Electron Raceway classes. See the link http://slotblog.net/...aceway-classes/ and select the class of interest

At STR we run True Scale GT1/Group C (Scholer chassis), many classes using brass and wire custom chassis and two ProTrack classes. Images of the track and classes are buried in the sub forum entitled STR race reports. See the link and select the pinned thread http://slotblog.net/...r-race-reports/

If it's one class I look forward to racing all week, it's Hardbody. The racing only gets better.  The Hardbody Challenge class has some new cars in the process of being built and should back up and running in two weeks.  It was good to have Dave Demott back after a 3 month hiatus with his new red Lotus 30. Here are this weeks results...

1  Charles Schlottfeld                    Yellow Porsche 962

2  Max Mohring                             Olds 88

3  Dave Demott                             Red Lotus 30

4  Andy Sr                                     Green Lotus 30

5  Chuck Malave                           Orange Porsche 962

6  Will Davis                                  Ford Capri GR5

7  Carl Paterson                            Blue Ford Fairlane

The race place will be hosting the Garden State ISRA races next Sunday and will probably affect the normal Hardbody schedule.  Please call ahead to check status.  Back to normal for the following weeks race on November 29th.

James is correct. It is a Chevy Lumina. It appears that the kit is a Monogram Days of Thunder (DOT) Lumina. Look closely at the box. See the yellow er upside down. It matches the box art. Also, see the directions - Decals are Hardees #18 - also matches DOT kit. Check out the link http://randyayersmod...71441d297617b45 for images of a great build of this model kit

Joe, Kurt and I have been tossing around the idea of running a NASCAR Hardbody class on the tri-oval at The Race Place.  Stay tuned for some R&D....

I am going to try that stage 1 tuneup to see if i can get the thing to run better than 7.6.  Now, can i bring a trailer and run it behind the truck?

Found this body at my parents house last weekend. Trying to find a way to make it work on a current chassis, but will require lots of effort. I have to rebuild the wing that is missing but the rest of the body is mostly there. I know the body says Dino on it, but I am still trying to id it so that it may fit into the rules for sunday hardbody at TRP......

Hey Joe, I think that NASCAR needs some custom vinyl to jazz it up. Let me know and keep it in mind. I am working on layered vinyl number sets, just have to work out the format.

You will find that the Stage I Tuning works quite well. We have used it successfully since the early 2000s. Below is an image of my Stage 2 ProTrack NASCAR and my ProTrack "Vintage NASCAR" work in progress. The T-Bird made a successful maiden voyage winning the last ProTrack NASCAR race. I was just lucky. James' Stage II T-Bird was quicker. Below are images of James' ride and the grid for the ProTrack NASCAR race. I hope to finish the 57 before the next Vintage NASCAR race on 12/7. Stay tuned

Hey Chris, that's a Ferrari Dino.  Years of manufacture are 1968 to 1976.  Totally a cool car and it fits our rules nicely.

I could be one of three models. First Bluetank 1/28 scale see the link https://www.rareburg...fp-IEAITO5ZO6GR

Dino1.jpg

Or a 1/24 Fujimi see the link http://www.amazon.co...e/dp/B002BWPLXQ

Dino2.jpg

Or an airfix see the link http://www.vintage-a...ino-p-1032.html
Dino3.jpg

These cars were really small so the model must be very short and narrow

That bluetank kit looks alot like the model. Thanks all, i mean that model is at least 25 years old.

Now i just need to figure out a way to mount it since it has really curved sides. But the body is wide and a short wheel base. It will not even fit the same chassis as the trans am.

I will make it work.
