Okay, found the right street car body. 308GTB  Just under 3 inches wide and a 4 inch wheel base. Think I will leave it vintage fresh after it gets mounted.

Yours truly got to be race director last week as the owner Jerry Herbert was home under the weather.  Chuck Malave had his son CJ racing Hardbodies with us for the first time.  He did well for a nine year old giving Alex, the same age, some competition.  I enjoy seeing fathers and sons at the track.  Here are this weeks results...

1  Andy Sr.                     Lotus 30

2  Kurt Mansfield            Purple Skyline

3  Chris Wendel             IROC Camaro

4  Tyler D.                      Corvette

5  Ray P.                        Olds 88

6  Chuck Malave            Orange Galaxy

7  CJ Malave                  Porsche 962

8  Alex Wendel               Petty Plymouth

9  Will D.                         Purple Superbird

Feel better Jerry !!!!

Hey Max,
What happened to that good looking 917? The car should be a great choice because it is so low and wide.

That was just a teaser shot. Chuck had just finished that body and was mocking it up to see what it would look like with wheels under it.  He still has to finish a new car to go underneath it.  I believe it will handle as good as it looks.

Wow,
Pretty evenly matched field - Top four 7.1 second fast lap and within a couple of laps between all of them. BTW How did the 917 work out. I see that this was its first race and should have some additional potential. Too bad they are so expensive. Below are a couple of images of mine and Ron's (green)

Sunday March 5th results.

This last Sunday was the last in a six month three track race series that The Race Place hosts.  It is an all day event and leaves most racers red eyed after racing for at least 6 hours prior to our Hardbody race that follows immediately after.  Regardless of all that, we as always, had a great time, full of smiles, laughter and banter.  Tyler took the win and Dave was finally able to have his son Sean join us.  It always makes me happy to see father and son racing and enjoying slot cars together.

Here are this weeks results...

1  Tyler D                      Group 5 Ford

2  Andy Sr                     Lotus 30 green

3  Dave Demott             Lotus 30 red

4  Chuck Schlottfeld      Porsche 917

5  KP                             Plymouth

6  Sean Demott             Monte Carlo

Some great looking cars and quite a variety at that. I do like the 917, Grp 5 Ford, Lotus and the Ferrari 308 among others. Keep up the good work!

Some exciting news... The Race Place will be holding its first Hardbody Headlight race in the near future.  Date and time to be announced.

Now back to your regularly scheduled program....

A good field of cars and drivers this past Sunday.  Kurt pushed his little Cobra to personal best lap times, Chuck and his 917 got this races fast lap and bumped Max and his Olds out of third place finish while Andy and Tyler duked it out for first and second.  It was good to have Tom, a Speedzone racer, join us again with his new build.

Here are this weeks results...

1  Tyler D                  Ford Gp 5

2  Andy Sr                 Lotus 30

3  Chuck Malave       Porsche 917

4  Max Mohring         Olds 88

5  Kurt Mansfield       Cobra

6  Tom                       Plymouth
